I was watching Sky Sports News last night and they were laughing at us Irish people! The guy doing the report on the Seve Trophy mentioned that crowds had been terribly disappointing with only about 300 people left on the course as the last match of the day ended. Then he went, ‘Meanwhile, over 80,000 people attended the national ploughing championships less than 20 miles from the venue.’ When it cut back to the anchors the two of them were in bits laughing. I kind of take their point as I’m not a bogger so have no interest in tractors, like Raven does, but golf is rubbish too in fairness.
Ah feck them.
I can’t imagine there was much of a crossover crowd between the golf and the ploughing. I’ve feck all interest in golf and I think it’s stupid having the Seve trophy here. It’s not important enough to generate a bandwagon interest so nobody shows up.
The ploughing championships is mind boggling. Still havent heard off Raven if any of the farmers daughters were any cop!
