Does impeachment mean anything? Wasn’t slick willy impeached and carried on regardless?
Actual impeachment, ie. impeachment with removal of office, means the House and two-thirds of the senate needs to vote for it. This has never happened so far. I don’t expect it to happen here either whatever happens. Trump was correct that he could shoot somebody on Fifth Avenue and Republicans would still support him. That also applies to any hypothetical tape with him saying the N word.
Clinton wasn’t impeached, the house voted to impeach but the senate voted against. It means being thrown out of office. Nixon resigned to avoid impeachment.
It is almost certain that Trump will be impeached if the Democrats take the House and senate in November.
