US Politics - A Society in Meltdown

This is why he’s President Snowflake, or should I say Child Emperor Snowflake.

No politician in history has been treated as unfairly as Donald Trump, the president claimed as he struggled under the weight of a series of major controversies.

“Look at the way I’ve been treated lately, especially by the media,” Trump said on Wednesday during a speech to the Coast Guard Academy in Connecticut. “No politician in history, and I say this with great surety, has been treated worse or more unfairly.”

He’s absolutely correct, regardless of what you think of him personally or politically, there is no precedent in the US at least for the level of attacks from the media. If you can’t see that, you are simply blinded by bias.

If a commentator on Fox News had made a joke about Obama screwing one of his kids, and simulated masturbation while he was cracking the “joke”, what would the reaction have been? Would Obama be accused of being a snowflake if he criticized Fox news (which he did frequently for disagreeing with his policies)?

The media are caught between swinging madly at Trump trying to finally stump him and introspection on how this situation came to be. It’s a very strange set of affairs to have the open hostility between the two.

What’s your problem with Melania… I
would have thought you’d be delighted with an immigrant done good story!

Must be terrible for the media: they scream for comey to be fired after looking into Clinton’s emails then laud him after trump does what they wanted. Cheer Bradley Manning being freed yet call for trump’s impeachment. Ya gotta laugh

The media are the least of Trump’s worries though, as most rational people are skeptical of the media anyway and for good reason. The fourth arm of govt (DOD and intelligence) are the ones that will take him out if they deem it necessary. This is an adversary that has never bowed to a president since JFK faced down the military during the Cuban missile crisis. They simply never have and never will allow a US president reduce the image of the former USSR being the bad guys, their jobs and budget after all depends on maintaining that adversarial relationship. Obama found this out quickly when he tried to coordinate a joint strategy with Russia on Syria, that was quickly scuttled by the DOD.

Absolute bollocks. Maybe it looks like that within your right wind media bubble, but too act like this bumbling toddler is somehow a victim is a joke.

i) Trump didn’t say that he was the most unfairly treated politician “in the US”, which clearly implies that he is talking about the world.
ii) He said “in history”.

So we know now he believes he is the most unfairly treated politician in the world, in history.

I doubt he’s ever heard of Imre Nagy, or Patrice Lumumba, or Salvador Allende, or Chris Hani. He genuinely thinks he’s Gandhi, that’s if he’s ever heard of Gandhi, and he more than likely hasn’t, given that his knowledge of the world and of history are high babies standard.

Trump has got off spectacularly lightly from the media. His links to Russian mobsters and the mafia and his history of corrupt business practices have not become major issues. He’s benefitted from an ocean of free coverage in the mainstream media like no other candidate ever. His treatment in comparison to the savagery Hillary Clinton and her husband endured has been kindergarten stuff.

In Trump’s world, reporting facts counts not just as unfair treatment, but makes him the most persecuted politician in the world, ever. The lack of self-awareness is staggering, but highly entertaining.

Trump should count his lucky stars he’s been treated as well as he has, because never in US history has a major politician deserved to be publicly humiliated and go down in the record books as a national embarrassment like he does.

Both himself and his supporters have the emotional maturity of Veruca Salt from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.

His and his supporters’ complete mental unravelling is just marvellous to watch.

Trump is a man who made his way into the political arena by peddling a racist conspiracy theory about Barack Obama.

Obama’s mistake was being too black. Trump’s mistakes include spilling classified intelligence to the Russians because he was bragging, and trying to get the FBI director to kill an investigation into one of his buddies.

The guy has been a massive fuck up since day one, literally. And these fucking snowflakes think that criticising his incompetence is unfair.

Everything @anon7035031 says is bollocks. That was established a long time ago.

Trump first talked about running for president in 1988, and started a campaign to run as the Reform party candidate in 1999. If you can’t get your basic facts right, best to stay out of the debate.

The only ones living in a bubble are left wingnuts like yourself and Sidney, the whole Trump campaign helped the Russians steal the presidency from Hillary narrative is a load of bollocks, but no surprise at who laps it up. Did the Russians stop Clinton campaigning in Wisconsin?

Don’t tag me in posts please. Now go fuck yourself.

Trump has courted and used the media for his personal benefit for his whole adult life.

There has never been a more publicity-hungry person in US history, and probably, by extension, world history.

And now he’s complaining about the media.

You literally can’t make this stuff up.

@ironmoth = homophobe.

I have a dislike of you, but it’s more to do with your cuntyness than your homosexuality.

Ah, class. A shit attempt at a comeback and you out yourself further as a homophobe in the process.

Most young lads generally grow out of trying to insult people by calling them gay when they’re about 15, you know.

Yet you’re still at it, which gives a fair indication of your level of intelligence.

Six months later and Sid still hasn’t got over crooked Hillary losing.
