The problem is the lack of fear that a major confrontation will happen. If there is a major incident then the Democratic establishment do not look like they will calm matters.
Russia interfered with US elections to destabilise the US as they saw Trump was a nut. Not out of any bromance between Putin & Trump. They’ve since gone in hard behind Assad in Syria while the World was distracted.
That doesn’t mean Trump isn’t capable of going against him in Syria, it’s difficult to believe he understands fully any of the consequences of his actions
So assured now, always is after a pivot away.
