At this very moment in time this is actually irrelevant. Whether your pro or anti Trump, it’s an election year. The timing of the virus and now the murder couldn’t have been worse for him. He was banking on having this virus under control coming into late summer and have the economy back up and running. The murder and the subsequent aftermath of rioting and looting has arguably caused as much economic damage as the virus has. It makes it all the harder for him to get his election campaign back on track. To be callous about it and not taking away fro m the gravity of what’s going on over there, it’s an absolute Godsend for Democrats. They need not do a thing except sit back, watch, throw the odd curve ball and they’re sitting pretty. I’d agree with that or at the very least be extremely well coached before going on air.
A third candidate late entry would do well at this stage. Would possibly win California and New York if they ticked the right boxes. Young would be a good start.

Based on current polls , that might not be enough. The other thing that will come into play is who Biden chooses as his running mate. Because in real terms he/she will be the one deemed to be running the country if he gets elected. The polls in the swing states are the ones to watch as the year progresses
