Trump is not a Nazi, he’s a Nazi apologist. Nazis demonstrated in Charlottesville. Trump equivocated on their behalf.
Here’s Donald Trump, the day after Charlottesville: “Racism is evil, and those who cause violence in it’s name are criminals and thugs. including the KKK, neo-Nazis, white supremacists and other hate groups”. Sounds a strange way to equivocate on behalf of alt-right hate groups. Those calling Trump (and Republicans in general) a Nazi apologist have only one goal, the overthrow of democracy. That’s the only real fascism going on here, a few thousand absolute nutters in a country of 230 million is not a threat to democracy, unless you also believe the few hundred neo-Nazis marching in Germany at the weekend are about to seize power.

All hate groups need to be condemned, including “alt-right”’ and “alt-left”. There are more Black Separatist groups in the US (193) than any other hate group category, and Antifa likely have more members now than any other hate group. Antifa are the biggest threat to democracy by far at present, as they are violently opposed to any conservative views being aired publicly, in a country that is overwhelmingly conservative (most Democrats are very conservative, at least economically).

I did fuck it up, as the point being made clearly went flying over your head. I promise to dumb it down in future.

Where do you start with this? I regret it every time I look in on this thread.

It was a fucking hogget. The nogra wouldn’t know a hogget if is shat on their face.

A good start would be arguing against it, which of course you are completely unable to do.

It’s pointless. It’s genuinely not worth the effort. It is self evidently a load of shite to anyone with half a brain.

I can see where it could appear to be a load of shite to someone with half a brain alright, those who fall for the prevalent media narrative. Anyone throwing the Nazi word around is to be questioned for motive, as its a term every moron uses in an argument. You do realize that the Nazis were socialists right (National Socialist Party remember), so far closer to your own ideology. The history of Europe in the 20th century should teach you where large centralized government leads to, regardless of ideology.

Larger government leads to greater individual freedom in democracies.

Charles Krauthammer nailed it when he compared Trump’s fake condemnation with a hostage video.

One could also compare it to Father Jack’s fake apology to Len Brennan.

Whatever it was, Trump almost immediately made it irrelevant by returning to equivocation and defending his previous equivocation on the Saturday. And it wasn’t an off the cuff decision like some of his supporters have claimed - he had a briefing sheet with him containing his Saturday statement. He knew full well what he was doing.

Utter nonsense.

Fascism starts small and spreads if not tackled. And Trump has no intention whatsoever of tackling it in any way.

What alt-left hate groups?

Neither Black Lives Matter or Antifa are hate groups.

Black Lives Matter are a black advocacy group who quite rightly object to systematic racism and police brutality against blacks. It’s kind of a major issue.

Antifa are simply an anti-fascist group. Unlike the KKK Nazis, they have no agenda to try and take over the state or anything remotely related to such.

Deary me.

You have it exactly backwards. In every society throughout human history, as government grows, human freedom shrinks. You would think someone living in Europe would understand that. The US federal government has been getting progressively larger for the past four decades, with an acceleration in the past two decades, and individual freedoms are being trampled on.

What alt-left hate groups?
Fascism is a European phenomena that never had much support in the US. The number of fascist groups in the US has been declining for decades, there were over 200 in 2007 and now there are less than 100. The following is from the liberal CNN site, where it is pointed out that black separatist groups comprise the single biggest hate category. BLM belong in that group as some of their members advocate for violence, including killing cops, and their leadership pay lip service to denouncing it.

Yes, fascism needs to be opposed, as does all hateful ideology. There is no more hateful ideology than communism and state socialism in terms of the human destruction it has caused since 1917.

The distinction however is groups that are actually violent versus groups that are non violent. No question neo-Nazis and white supremacists can be violent as seen in Charlottesville and elsewhere. Antifa are a very violent group and are targeting all conservative gatherings, not just the fringe lunatic alt-right. Clearly you are OK with left wing violence, which means you have no moral authority to speak on the issue.

I know you don’t like it, but the Nazis were socialists and the regime they set up was state socialism.

Trump isn’t opposing it. He’s encouraging it. Say the Nazis. And they know when they’re being encouraged, as they are now.

Your second sentence there is ahistorical.

Like Trump, you simply refuse to recognise the unique, unparallelled evil of Naziism, and continue to equivocate. You were called out on your own false equivalence and also over your hypocrisy about the use of violence earlier and refused to deal with it.

Sure. I’ve better things to be doing then arguing with somebody who holds irrational, ahistorical delusions.

You have nothing better to be doing, and you know it.

If the Nazis were not socialist, why did they call themselves socialists? Was it pretend socialist, unlike the real version in the USSR?

Why did David Duke condemn Trump for speaking out against neo-Nazis and white supremacists? Seems a strange reaction if Trump was encouraging him. You are buying into the media hysteria.

I have no problem condemning Naziism, I condemn it unreservedly. I also have no problem condemning other dangerous ideology. Denying that communism and state socialism was just as evil as Naziism is just head in the sand stuff from you, but typical of modern lefties.
