Sorry, again a complete misunderstanding of what’s going on. Direct Provision as I understand it is how Ireland deals with with refugees and asylum seekers who go through the process of applying for residency in Ireland (correct me if I am wrong). A similar system exists in the US and about 100,000 a year enter though this legal system, the US has the highest number of resettlements in the world.
The problem on the US southern border is overwhelming numbers (50,000 a month) that cross the border with no application for asylum or visa to enter the country and are apprehended (obviously countless others are not apprehended). This is a direct result of half hearted border security for decades.
Clearly the process of detaining parents and children separately is inhumane (although dictated by laws signed by both parties) and the quicker a solution is found the better. The most likely solution though is to detain families together and then deport them together.
Trump was taking yesterday about immigrants “infesting” the US. That is language straight out of Nazi Germany.
I do hate throwing out Nazi comparisons because they lose any meaning if you you throw them around indiscriminately, like right-wing nut jobs like to do about anybody they don’t like.
But they are entirely accurate this case, and it’s very far from the first time for Trump.
Looking at the US these days, it’s so fucking easy to see how fascism in Europe in the 1930s happened. There is a highly aggressive cancer of stupidity in that country.
Fascism in the 1930s was a socialist mental disease, whether national socialism in Germany or state socialism under Stalin. Responsible for the deaths of tens of millions of people, which in both instances took the intervention of the US to bring to a halt.
Learn your history before embarrassing yourself, you absolute jackass.
No, it strikes me as someone who is disgusted by Democrats’ utter hypocrisy on the subject of immigration. Trump is clearly referring to criminal illegals entering the US, in fact he mentions MS-13 gang members specifically in the same sentence.
It’s a very basic question. Does the US as a sovereign country have the right to control its borders and decide who it wants to allow entry? The answer is yes and only commie nutters like yourself think otherwise.
There are humans that are correctly called sub humans, actually animals is more appropriate, although it’s an affront to most animal species. The behavior of MS-13 gang members and drug cartel members in Mexico, central and South America is absolutely subhuman.
Of course, it’s unsurprising that you find this reality offensive, given you have defended pedophiles and other human monsters on this site, you sick weirdo.
You’re the only one on this site who is likely to have been an SS member if alive in Nazi Germany. You have the perfect combination of blind allegiance to fanatical ideology and obvious mental illness.
One most of us can agree on is that politics has taken a nasty turn in last few years. Leaders now need to step and start discussing the illegal immigration issue both in the US and Europe or else we will see more hardline political parties being elected.
You have to laugh … the US leaves the U.N Human Rights Council citing abuse and negligence — While at the same time they have concentration camps on the go
When mainstream politicians adopt the language of the far right, it’s always a recipe for disaster.
The far right have no point about anything. They are wrong about everything, they’ve always been wrong about everything. The far right themselves aren’t ignorant of history, they look back on 1930s facism as a golden era. But they prey on people who are ignorant of history and proud of it.
Trump, Salvini, Le Pen, Farage, AFD, Wilders and all the rest, and the bottom feeding media which back them, are all total con artists. They are thugs in suits and skirts.
They will not be defeated by mainstream politicians pandering to them by adopting their language and legitimising their bigotry.
They will only be defeated by having their arguments confronted and exposed as being utterly bankrupt.
At the moment, the only people who seem capable of doing that are themselves.
