US Politics - A Society in Meltdown

Semantics my arse.

Misquoting or making up quotes by somebody = fake news.

We know the wider story about Seth Rich itself is fake.

Why have Fox not touched the story since they suddenly dropped it on May 22nd?

Again, if Fox say they’re genuine quotes they should have no problem finding audio of them. You would agree with this, yes?

You continually say this, have been continually asked to back it up with even one example, and have consistently failed to do so.

Yet above, you do the exact same thing you erroneously accuse me of.

You actually are a conspiracy theorist.

You don’t understand what actual journalism is.

You swallow the Donald Trump definition of “news” whole.

You don’t understand what actual journalism is.
Unlike you, I don’t claim to be a pretend journalist.

Examples? The entire Trump campaign colluded with the Russians to hack the DNC and Podesta’s emails narrative is fake news. Not one shred of evidence to support it, other than a few meetings between Trump associates and Russians, most of which were normal business or political meetings, blown of all proportion by a media that was 100% in HRC’s corner and still can’t accept that she lost (a lot of which has to do with themselves).

Let’s see how this one plays out. My prediction, similar to all your other conspiracy theories; nothing.

I have a Masters in journalism, pal. I have worked in the media but I don’t currently.

Have you ever worked in the media?

It may have escaped your attention, but a special prosecutor has been appointed to investigate it.

You contradict yourself by saying there is evidence.

And no, they weren’t normal business meetings.

What exactly was normal about the Trump Tower meeting at which Trump Jr., Kushner and Manafort attended?

Question: Do you think there should be a special prosecutor over this matter?

The only people who are obsessed with Hillary Clinton are Trump loyalists such as yourself.

Why does Trump keep mentioning Clinton? Why do you? Why can’t you move on?

Another question for @anon7035031:

Why should anybody take a single word anybody in the Trump regime or anybody representing it says as anything other than a lie?

You know, given their proven record of lying through their teeth about pretty much everything - a systemic policy of lying which is completely unprecedented in western democratic politics.

Do you agree the Trump regime has now, through its consistent lying, forfeited the right to be believed about anything?

I’ve said from the beginning that Trump had no background in politics, so would not be able to lie like a seasoned politician.

Politicians are trained liars. I automatically assume everything said by politicians is a lie or at best spin, that has been my starting point for some time (unfortunately). There’s lies and there’s lies, I would categorize Trump’s lies as sloppy and careless more than malevolent. Compared to say Bush and Blair and all those who supported them that resulted in endless futile war and how many dead and maimed?

Congrats on your masters. I assume you left the profession due to it’s appalling standard, as the two main publications in Ireland are not worth wiping your arse with.
Have you ever worked in the media?
No, I have tended to do useful things with my time. I regard much of the modern media as utter garbage (including Fox News).
Question: Do you think there should be a special prosecutor over this matter?
Yes, as there in enough public interest in the matter.

Ah here, if your excuse for Trump is that he’s not a politician you’re at nothing and it’s an admission that he’s utterly incompetent.

He is a politician and has been since June 2015.

Could you answer the question posed, please?

Why should anybody now take anything anybody in the Trump regime or anybody representing it says as anything other than a lie, unless proven otherwise?

The fact that you regard a free press as “garbage” shows you have no interest in democracy.

And why would there be public interest in the matter, one wonders?

Nice of you to admit it actually is a big story and not a “non-story”, though.

My position is that only a naive idiot in this day and age would start from a position that anything said by a politician is true.

The fact that you regard a free press as “garbage” shows you have no interest in democracy.
A free press? Are you having a laugh?

The entire mainstream media is owned by a few mega corporations. The Washington Post, where most of the stories you swallow originate, is owned by Jeff Bezos, the CEO of the finest example of corporatism on the planet. In a democracy Amazon would have been splintered long ago.

A free press :joy:

So you admit that everything said by Trump or anybody connected to him should be treated as a lie unless proven otherwise, yes?

This appears to go directly against the position you have held for the last 20 months.

Deary me. You read something Trump writes and then run with it wholesale.

And that also goes against what you said in the previous passage I quoted from you.

Why are the Washington Post continually being proven correct and Trump and his cronies continually being proven to have lied?

Oh yes, and your little outburst there is also a devastating broadside against capitalism, which you claim to love.

And, are you now saying that the US does not have a free press?

Remember, you’ve been saying continually here that the US is the bastion of freedom.

Saying it doesn’t have a free press directly contradicts that.

You now appear to believe you’re living in authoritarian state, despite your previous furious denials as to such.

This is tremendous comedy fare from you.

You are tremendously slow tonight, understandable as its late I suppose.

Simply put, you take things too literally.
