US Politics II. Trump’s extreme regime

The tone of that seems kind of winny for trump. Or at least the tone seems like trump can certainly claim he won.

It’s almost like they wrote it that way on purpose.

Mark Little called him anti-establishment on the radio last week on the basis that back in the day, saying “Fuck the Queen” was anti-establishment if you were the Sex Pistols or somebody, but now the ESTABLISHMENT is anybody who thinks people shouldn’t be gratuitously abused on the basis of them having brown skin or being disabled or being gay etc., and so the definition of PUNK in 2025 is the Ku Klux Klan.

Inflation rising in the US is a BIG WIN for Trump.

It seems to be all stuff he’s doing and the only mention of trump is that he’ll pause tariffs. I’m not a tariff nut like Ewan but this not be more or less a win for trump.
He’s the leader of the most powerful country in the world, he’s a bully and he seems like he’s capable of doing any sort of mad shit which makes normal leaders a bit wary of him. I can actually see that being a very successful combination in the short term which is all he cares about.

…what are you on about.

I despise trump and every single thing he stands for but I just have a feeling he’ll be seen as a success as president after the 4 years. I think his bullish bullying will work.
Maybe I’m reading Trudeau’s tweet wrong but he appears to have won that battle to me

What a time to be alive!
Trump 2.0 is something to witness

Trumps been more productive in 2 weeks than our muttonheads have since independence

This plan pre dates.tarrifs

In response to U.S. concerns over border security and the potential imposition of tariffs, the Canadian government has initiated a comprehensive plan to enhance border measures. Below is a timeline outlining key developments:

December 2024

December 18: The Canadian government announced a $1.3 billion investment in border security. The plan includes the formation of a joint strike force, deployment of aerial surveillance units, and the enhancement of law enforcement capabilities to detect and intercept illegal drugs and manage irregular migration.

January 2025

January 27: Parliament resumed activities after the holiday break, with expectations to provide further details and timelines for implementing the border security measures.

February 2025

February 2: U.S. President Donald Trump acknowledged that the imposed tariffs on Mexico, Canada, and China might cause economic “pain” to Americans but deemed them necessary to combat illegal immigration and drug trafficking.

February 3: Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and President Trump agreed to a 30-day suspension of the proposed 25% tariffs on each other’s imports. During this period, Canada committed to deploying 10,000 troops along the northern border and intensifying efforts against fentanyl smuggling. Trudeau announced the appointment of a Fentanyl Czar and other initiatives to reinforce border security.

The Canadian government is expected to release more detailed timelines and implementation strategies for the border security measures in the coming weeks.

Don’t bring facts into the discussion mate.

Why did Trudeau make it sound like trump.won? He just listed out a load of things he was going to do in response to Trump’s tariff threat and nothing trump was doing? It’s literally all about optics and surely that tweet looks good for trump regardless of actual facts.

The most important meeting of world leaders in a quarter of a century is taking place. And trump has lads arguing over 25 cents on a can of michelob.
He’s some class of genius.

Plamasing him

Trump needs to bomb some relatively prosperous and stable north African country back to the stone age. Just to make the #bekind lefty woke lads feel like all’s well with the world.

He’s obsessed with it. He genuinely wouldn’t care about any other policy as long as he has the best stock market ever - to paraphrase

Like Putin is trying in Ukraine?

Very successful in what way?

Was Hitler “successful” for a long time?

What is “success”?

Ukraine might be a bit too complex for you

Ok just certain invasions are complex and you’re the man to decide which ones are and aren’t?

I didn’t decide anything. But it’s a complicated situation- you’ve nato expansion, donbass sepratists, hedge fund investments, bio-labs, black sea access, cia backed coups, kolomoisky, hunter…not to mention vlad marching on paris.
I don’t know where you get the time to study this stuff?
