Nothing is surprising with him. He has moved the needle so far he can say whatever he wants without consequence.
It seems of a fit with what heâs said to date and doing currently. Heâd have no qualms with doing it if he reckoned heâd get away with it. Theyâre wholly on board with their allies murdering journalists. Would you be in any way surprised if the US did it? They could do it in the US with the next couple years and it would hardly surprise.

I believe the saudi - US deal for oil to be sold in dollars was up last year⌠The Saudi Riyal is pegged to the dollar also.
