Itâs about turning the working class against the working class. Itâs about turning the middle class against the middle class. Itâs about creating a war of all against all.
Itâs about destroying all class solidarity, of isolating all individuals outside of the 0.1% richest. The only types of âsolidarityâ Trumpism tolerates are white racial supremacism, male supremacism, straight supremacism, anti-immigrant supremacism and the supremacism of those with the most money.
But none of those are a form of solidarity, theyâre attempts to divide, to kick down, to paralyse, to destroy. Theyâre about stripping people of agency, demoralising people, humiliating people, and then telling those people to blame OTHER people as a fake way to regain some self-respect. But thatâs not self-respect.
Trump isnât even offering his supporters blue passports, like Brexit did. All he offers is to strip his supporters of their dignity as he and his cabal rape them, and that evil intent is sometimes a literal one as well as a metaphorical one.
