A massive issue in the universities is the drop out rates of blacks Hispanics etc. As Labane pointed out there is a plethora of scholarships grants etc for kids from those backgrounds to get there. I donât know is it down to a drop off in supports when they enter university or what but I think the drop out rate is above 60%. It may be that some are pushed through the system without being equipped with the proper skills and knowledge to survive college and a big factor in that is the shirty state of public education. Kids are graduating high school with very poor literacy and math. Donât have the figure at hand but for kids from public schools itâs around 60%.
Hopefully the black lives matters extremists will be kept well away from the RNC.
7 shot, 3 confirmed dead.
Public school education at the elementary and secondary level is atrocious in the US, given the spending involved. It has completely failed, especially in poor urban areas. There is more money spent per student, not just compared to other developed countries, but compared to private schools. In contrast, the Universities are top notch. While there are many root causes and its a very complex issue, the primary difference is that universities have to compete and as with anything healthy competition leads to improved quality and standards. There is zero accountability in elementary and secondary public schools, teachers are really badly paid, while the admin involved is enormous with serious money paid to layers of managers who are part of the problem not the solution. Itâs been like that for decades, with no solutions in sight, depressing really.
The solution is pretty obvious but it costs money. I was out in the states a while back and worked in public schools and a private one which was a de LA salle middle school. Only seventy students there all on free scholarship mostly Hispanic. Class sizes were small and there was lots of extra supports after school. What the yanks call enrichment. These kids were in there from 8-5 every day and all doing very well. That model works but it would cost money to do that in public schools and require massive reform which wonât happen as you said. Too many layers of bureaucracy and people looking after their own interests. And crap pay for teachers leads to massive turnover. Non profits like the one I was working for have massive private funding going in to these schools giving support but that money would also be much better spent on paying teachers right and reducing class sizes.
Was one of the officers black? This is all getting very confusing. Can we not just stick to blacks killing whites and whites killing blacks?
Trump is up
This is even cheesier than the 1980s
Diffiuclt to believe, but this is not a spoof
You canât put a price on freedom, well you can, itâs $20 for 6.
