I mostly skim past your posts when I see them Tim. I occasionally respond to correct some of your more wildly wrong assertions but, if you’re ever in doubt, please rest assured that the reason I don’t engage in prolonged discussion is because I think you’re talking shite. I’m glad you feel validated anyway.

I look forward to hearing more about your political ideology in the Orchard bar tomorrow, pal.

Did the building of motor ways and urbanization do anything, pal?

Sure you do bro. You waited here for cover and came in with more than a sentence long response once you had someone to buddy up to. You’ve posted in here at least a dozen times and most of it has been inane one word answers, but @Fagan_ODowd doesn’t seem to have a problem with that as you are comporting to his view of the world.

I wouldn’t deny for a second that infastructure spending would have helped in the 1950s. Fianna Fáil might have done a lot of things in the 2000s in Government but at least we built our road infastructure up to passable European levels in that time, which will help long when we’re gone.

Of this Keynisian idea, I am quite in favour and favour government spending generally here. There would be some areas of the New Deal I wouldn’t mind as much as others, but there is certainly no doubt that World War II which is what revitalised the USA.

If Ireland were actually spending money on infastructure for the last few years and that’s where our deficit was coming from I would be far more relaxed about it.

The war was certainly the catalyst - but from my limited knowledge the building of infrastructure blew it wide open… Urbanization, the urban wife/mother and the advent of tv created a consumer society as never seen before… I think they made a fictional tv programme that touches on some of these topics.

Do you honestly believe that?

There’s not a huge amount to it really. The shafting of us micks is a great example though recent and not so recent. Capitalism = cunts. They change their rules at will.

We’ll have nothing to talk about if you keep going.

We’ll be steamed and talking about the game there’ll be no political shite tomorrow

Do I believe conclusions based on research and evidence as opposed to unsupported opinion or political philosophy? Yes. Only an idiot wouldn’t.
