TFK moved a step closer to a historic fourth Astro title in a row with a comfortable 8-0 victory over a gallant Sin Nombre in Sandymount tonight.
The onliners dominated the game from start to finish and an inspired second half goalkeeping display kept the scoreline in single figures.
Rocko settled things down with a cleverly taken opening goal, after which Monkey Allen responded with a quartet, Jugs helped himself to a brace and Cesc4 chipped in with one, albeit not a chip.
The win leaves TFK 12 points clear, with nearest challengers Farcenal having 4 games remaining. The goal difference is slightly in TFK’s favour also (+120 v +44).
Convincing win and it’s getting closer. I never even believed that we’d win 1 league. To be on the verge of our 4th in a row is simply beyond my wildest dreams.
It’s official - We are the Champions. According to the Astro site Farcenal lost tonight.

Jugs and myself are still in The Ice Bar here in The Four Seasons. Are you gone up to your room or what? Not sure where the other lads went after the squad dinner.

I’m just delighted to be still winning league titles at the age of 37, even if it is only as a bit part squad player.
Ya I had to go back to the room as I’ve been on to www.dublinsightseeing.ie to see can we arrange an open top bus around the city tomorrow.
Ah wonderful news. Effectively the winning goal was my goal so, being the first and all. So that’s the goal that won us the title.

Indeed. Official medal ceremony that Thursday night and Wrestlemania XXVII to follow on the Sunday. If ever there was cause to take the Friday and Monday off then this is it.
How on earth was this let pass without any fanfare? Have TFK become ManYoo? Do the fans not care anymore?

Realistically we weren’t going to get caught. Mathematically there was still a possibility even though we were winning all our games. Tonight we had it all but wrapped up because of goal difference but we weren’t expecting our closest challengers to slip up in a later game.
You love winning titles at your own ground in front of a packed crowd but it doesn’t always happen that way. There isn’t a drop of complacency or boredom with winning leagues though. We will refresh the team for next season and improve again. But we’ll enjoy this one for a few weeks now.
