Vincent Browne

Good to have the love child of Eoghan Harris and Mary Ellen Synon on the forum  :pint:

couldā€™nt remember the name of the other one

The jpost. The nutjobā€™s havenā€¦

Iā€™m beginning to suspect that Mickee is actually that lad Michael Dwyer who was supposed to have been killed in Bolivia. Itā€™s all beginning to add up. This guy is a travelling fascist mercenary. Croatia, Bolivia, Israel. He worked as a security guard at the Shell site in Mayo. Hates unions. Loves nothing more than to give the little man a good kicking. He is infused with the spirit of William Martin Murphy. Saying he is from Cork instead of Tipp makes him more believable and sure its only a short leap anyway.

All that stuff about the body being flown home was only a ruse. Mickee fled to Israel and this forum is now his only means of contact with home. But if Evo Morales ever registers here heā€™ll be off like a shot, or sorry, a depleted uranium munition.

Haā€™aretz ( meaning the land in hebrew), would more be an anti governement newspaper in a moderate sense,it incorporates the international herald and tribune that is a decent read on a dailly basis for 5 NIS.
The other english print newspaper the jerusalum post would have an orthodox following and i guess could be classified as " right wing". Often people like to quote a poll in the jerusmalin post but one must rememeber that often the particiapants in the poll are either orthodox rabbis or kenesset members, !!

Israelis dont really take any notice of these 2 newspapars tho, as they are printed in english they are read more by people outside the country (jerusalim post in english i have never seen for sale in israel where i live in tel aviv for example).
the hebrew publications like ā€œyā€™'edaiotā€ would be far more popularā€¦

people make up their own viewpoint.

irish people like newspapers, they are afraid and unable to form their own opinion so they need to read someone elseā€™s and then choose that as their ownā€¦ very sadā€¦

anyway back to the strikeā€¦

none taken puke.
in the spirit of this thread it is allowedā€¦
These strikers are vermin, simple.

if you strike then you should be fired. period.
nobody forces you to work, if you are not happy with your job or conditions fuck off and do something else.
im quite sure many Polish people or many of the current unemployed people on the dole right now would willingly do these jobs.
There is a recession, get over it you trade union scum.
Im quite sure the training involved for the majority of these menial jobs is not exactly very complicated so im quite sure the current deadwood could be replaced quite quickly with minimum fuss and impact.

Im quite sure if an independent organisation performed some type of efficecy modelling on the aarchaic methods the public sector use you could in fact probably fire 50% of the people in some of these departments.

As for the teachers, well i know plenty of eastern europeans, who can teach,we can incorporate these new teachers by removing the irish language and religion from the curriculum and replacing it with a useful foreign language, its not complicated.
Firing the deadwood is the beginning of the process of reform.

i despise unions, the retards who pay money from their salary on a weekly basis to line a lying coont like David Beggā€™s pocket need to have a long hard look at themselves.

Id also imprison the trade union leaders immiediately.
They are thieves and liars only out to massage their own corrupt egos and with the support of the gulliable mob, they will take the country to the grave.

Im fuckin so glad im not in ireland right now.

rant over.

thanks puke for setting me off on this.[/quote]

Youā€™re generally a decent poster Mickee but that was not one of your better efforts mate.

Mickee is right. If you donā€™t want to work then fuck off. This country is too soft.

Itā€™s time for the resistance to rise.

Vincent taking on all comers tonight

ā€œWhere were you when the fine gael front bench was reshuffled?ā€

This show has taken a massive leap to the right in Vincentā€™s absence

Broadcaster will sell home to pay off ā‚¬1.5m debt

By Shane Hickey

Friday September 10 2010

BROADCASTER Vincent Browne has spoken of the personal difficulty he faces after being forced to sell his seaside family home to pay debts and set up a pension fund.

The journalist yesterday said he would love to stay in his home in Dalkey, south Co Dublin forever but must put it on the market to settle a ā‚¬1.5m debt and provide for his future.

ā€˜Atlantaā€™, the six-bedroom house where Browne and his wife raised their family, is on the market for ā‚¬3.25m.

The coastal property is in one of the wealthiest parts of the country, home to high-profile figures from the legal, entertainment and financial worlds.

Browne and his wife Jean initially bought the property for IRĀ£94,000 (ā‚¬119,000). However, they now have to sell the Victorian house to settle debts that accumulated through the broadcasterā€™s involvement with ā€˜Villageā€™ magazine, which he started in 2004. It ceased production in August 2008. The magazine was taken over by Michael Smith.

Browne also revealed yesterday that his pension fund had plummeted in value. "I have managed to amass a huge debt through ā€˜Villageā€™ and donā€™t have a pension, so I have to pay off the debt and put something towards a pension.

ā€œI did have a pension at one stage but its value is almost zero because it is one of the pensions that relied on the stock market.ā€

Difficult

The TV3 presenter said it would be particularly difficult parting with the house, which has a clear view of Dalkey Island from its rear rooms and an extensive garden.

ā€œI hate leaving it,ā€ he said. ā€œWe love the house. The idea of buying an investment property at the time never crossed anybodyā€™s mind. I suppose if I didnā€™t have the house, I wouldnā€™t be in the financial difficulty I am in but it has to be sold.ā€

However, Browne said he would not have to sell the house straight away and it may take a number of years.

ā€œI donā€™t need to sell right now because I have a contract with TV3, but it has to sell,ā€ he said on 2FM.

The house is on Coliemore Road, a short distance from other high-profile Dalkey residents such as the Edge, Maeve Binchy and Neil Jordan.

ā€˜Atlantaā€™ has direct access to the sea, one of only 80 houses in Dublin with the feature, according to Vincent Finnegan Auctioneers, which is handling the sale. This will add considerably to the value of the property, which has four reception rooms.

Despite the downturn, nearby properties are also listed for multimillion euro sale prices. ā€˜Watersideā€™, on the same road, which is not yet completed, is selling for ā‚¬1m. Four-bedroom Khyber Lodge on nearby Nerano Road is listed at ā‚¬2.45m.

ā€œI think Iā€™m in a very privileged position vis-a-vis people who have lost their jobs and are in negative equity. If I struggle with a pension, it is pretty small fry compared to what people are going through.ā€

Irish Independent

Tough break for Vincent. I remember reading that Village magazine had lost a fuckload of money alright. He probably suffered for not forseeing the rise in popularity of the South Dublin social scene. I donā€™t think I ever read a single article about Glenda Gilson in it.

Heā€™s very open and honest anyway.

Should be a good laugh tonight over all that has gone on earlierā€¦

Vincent referring to the Think Tank as a ā€˜Jamboreeā€™. Tremendous.

Vinny looks like he doesnā€™t give a shit about Cowen drinking

Ah this is a load of fucking shite.

Iā€™m off to bed.

Vincent.

He said jamboree again there and is now seen laughing and skipping questions. We could be in for a classic episode of Tonight with Vincent Browne.

This Ursula Halligan one seems like a right shit stirring trollop

Ursula Halligan = boring waste of space
