GAA lads again obsessed with the word probably. In fact it’s probably the most over used word in the GAA.

What’s wrong with that? Teaching is a part time job that will allow him to play the game he loves. Outside of being a teacher or a student it would be very difficult to commit the time needed to be a top IC player.

Eh there’s loads of top inter country players in other professions.

There is but that doesn’t mean having a part time job or being a student doesn’t make it easier.

Vast majority are students or teachers or else getting money through various sponsors. Not to many IC players working in stressful environments or over physical jobs.
Reading the Barron article he has has every intention of getting a career job once the IC days are over.

He will in his hole, once he gets used to the easy life he won’t want a proper job, probably wouldn’t be able for it

Dublin players don’t count

We’ll take your educated word for it.

Like who?

I don’t have the stats to hand but taking the top hurling teams in the county to be Galway and tipp and Dublin and mayo and maybe Kerry as the top football teams would you think the majority of those players are not teachers or students. I would.

Some joke. “Yerra who gives a fuck about the kids, throw a few hurlers in for a handy number to ‘teach’ them”.

Barron a good man. Only telling it as it is.

Dublin players at least are given a hell of a lot of leeway, not on the same terms as other professionals at all.

You could argue he is being very honest. Still a bollocks though. He’d have to be pretty thick to come out with this shit publicly as well.

Let it be is my advice. He’s young and hurling means a lot to him.

He’s only saying what the vast majority think of the teaching profession.

He’s only going doing the course now to be a teacher which will take a year or two, anyhow he said he’s going off working for the Radley’s in the meantime
