The floodlights were still working on the side of the pitch towards the bottom end. It was the other side of the pitch that crashed at the top pitch side. There were Ashbourne Cup Camogie trials on to pitch ongoing which were abandoned too. Place was just wedged.

4 weeks was a long wait between an All Ireland Final and a replay. Waterford played a challenge match against Wexford two weeks either side of the draw and replayed 1959 final.

Jesus Wexford were back training for 1960 early. I assume the league started in the autumn back in those days? It paid off anyway as they won Liam the following year with their most convincing final victory ever.
Itâs lucky it was straight knockout back then or Waterford wouldnât have finished their club championships until the following year. No Munster club deadlines in 1959 of course.
Sure they just handed the News and Star Cup to Mount Sion in those days. It was easier for all concerned.
