In Football news, Castletown beat Martin’s and Starlights ended Shels double dreams. Liam Ryan was playing for the Stars in good news for the county hurling team.

Castletown v St Martins sounded like a great finish. No football title for St. Martins since 2013 despite being favourites nearly every year. Barry O’ Connor and Walters probably would have edged it for them.

The goal he set up last week was tremendous. He plays midfield in football with the same swashbuckling style he displays when lining out at full back in hurling.

I saw the Anne’s result and win in the intermediate final over ferns and thought nothing of it, an expected win.

I did not realise what happened in the last play of the game to win it. Fair save from the keeper to send them up.
