Here pal, I know you’ll only take proper authentic programs as confirmation of teams…
Kilkenny stingy today . Don’t want to have to pay for many after match meals .
The fine print…
They’ve 11 on the sideline, Wexford only need one.
Davy does the work of 11 men . Wow
Wexford 2-18
Kilkenny 1-9
Tis a long time since we’ve beaten them in any competition by that much. Aidan Nolan and Mikey Dwyer with the goals. Davy wrecking Paul Galvins head by bringing Kevin O’Grady off the bench too
Mick Furlong started too.
Did we not hammer them in the league last year?
By 12 points or double scores? I honestly can’t remember
He earns it
You can never beat them cunts by enough
Anyone at the game? How did the historical home of Gaelic Football* hold up?
*Okay, the match was above on the Green
I believe Edmund Rice turned in his grave down the road at KK’s ineptness
300 posts on the Limerick thread about a pre-season friendly last night and barely a murmur on our one in similar circumstances. We’re doing it wrong.
I see there’s an O’Byrne Cup and Walsh Cup Finals double header in Portlaoise next Saturday. A fantastic initiative for those patrons who’d want to attend both games.
Ye’re really a football county in fairness.
Has there been a change pal? Or are you TAKING THE PISS on the internet?
@buffegan was at the game and has a decent review up on Chatsnap. My take from it
- Our backs horsed the KK 3rd team out of in the first half. Some lovely points from distance and Shore did untold damage close to goal
- KK got it back to 1 or 2 points after an Eoin Murphy pelanty. He had made a cracker of a save before that to save a certain goal so it was a classic 6 point swing.
- Aidan Nolan took the game by the scruff of the neck and scored 1-3 from play during the rest of the half. Keeper should probably have saved his goal
- We scored some lovely points from distance in the 2nd half with plenty of off the ball running.
- Paul Morris came off the bench and seemed to stretch the fuck out of KK’s 3rd choice defence with his direct running
While our team was marketed as being inexperienced we still had Paudie Foley, Kevin Foley, Simon Donohue, Shaun Murphy, Paul Morris, Jack O’Connor, Aidan Nolan, David Dunne and Andrew Shore featuring who could all feasibly be in the starting championship 15. I think Conor Mac may also have played.
So in all reality, we should be beating that KK team by a good 15 points or so.
"We’d never cross over football, I have too much respect for Paul and his team. It’s just the lads were at nothing, we were down a lot of boys. I’m delighted to have them“
Poor turnout I believe due to a general foreboding that spectators might be called on to tog out ala Aidan Lawlor against the same opposition & in the same venue circa '95. KK carried 5 subs & 11 team officials !
Derek is a great man
The Club is delighted to announce that Tony ‘Sack’ Walsh will manage our senior hurling team for the coming year 2020. We want to wish Tony and his management team the very best of luck for the year ahead. They will be supported by Derek McGrath who will be providing back up support and advice on certain occasions throughout the year. Derek’s involvement is limited throughout the year as we understand his full commitment lies with the Laois minors. In saying that we are excited to have someone of Derek’s calibre involved. Safe to say we are in steady hands and look forward to the year ahead.
