Wexford GAA 2022

Heā€™ll probably tell you the Fethard lads

He has form for the hook lads in general

Most of them in central roles, Eoin Whelan was named full back but was out the field a bit too as they had 2 sweepers. Conor Foley was solid centre back. Michael Dundon in midfield got a knock early on and was quiet enough. Jack Redmond was centre forward and was a great link play and 100% on frees. Cillian is a livewire player, super skilful but still light (still minor this year again). He was midfield for last years Co team and was corner forward today. Brilliant touch and awareness. Adam O Grady came on and got on the scoreboard. A hard game to judge as the defenders had little to do, but did it well. The closing down and work rate from the forward 8 was superb though and was the winning of the game.

Kevin is a football man, he must be the token Wexford lad as selector.

Do the Fethard tinted glasses come in the club colours or what colour are they?

No, not at all. Kevin was a coach or manager of the 2 teams in 95 and 97 that won Leinster too. Interestingly, so was Mick Purcell, who by and large was the main man over them back then too. Tom Walsh (RIP) of Cloughbawn was the third selector as well on those two teams. Deccie Wall was on one of those teams too if I recall and is selector now with his former coaches.

A lot of the training in there would be quite mixed for dual purposes. You could have up to 75% of squads being on both panels, which is why many top Kilkenny hurlers took to football and were very good as they would train with football teams by being on hurling panels.

Yeah I noticed they had a fair enough amount of lads on the football alright.

Iā€™ll save this for when they line out for Wexford seniors on the same team and shove it up your bollix

Would be an awful waste of a good pair of glasses

Might help you see games better

Fair enough crowd from Wexford in Ennis here.

Only 1 on the panel from Geraldineā€™s.

Iā€™d be surprised if Geraldineā€™s even had a minor team, a disaster of a club

Shame in a town of that size. We brought our u7s up there last year and they have good facilities, could be a lot of potential if they got their house in order.

Would Counsel be the school of choice for New Ross townies though? I always assumed it had more of a population from the outskirts. Maybe @Gman would confirm

Havenā€™t a clue to be honest but I would have expected more than 1 from the Gerā€™s on the panel.

He was manager/selector in 1997 when they made the final as well.

Always thought heā€™d be football only kind of person. When Iā€™m wrong Iā€™m wrong.

Townies go to the CBS or the Tech ā€œKennedy Collegeā€.
