Warming up Chin, then donāt bring him on? This lad is a spoofer.
I know what you mean, but that game was as good as over 10mins into the 2nd half. Watching on the tv, he was talking to Chin so perhaps the decision was made not to chance him.
Oh fuck off, bring him on, put him in forwards, donāt leave him on the bench! Too nicey nice in this fuckin county. Heās a spoofer.
Naming experienced lads on the bench and not bringing them on. Fuck that.
Its not all lost, 4 more games and 3 wins will have us qualified. I understand your frustration and would agree with you usually but i didnt see the point of risking him. He obviously has an injury.
According to Tom Dempsey it was a shoulder injury.
We are cursed with injuries at the moment. But look if Reck and Chin can start next week v Antrim and the week after v Dubs ill take that.
Next 2 weekends will define our season.
The positioning of Roc is a worry for me. He is too deep lads. How many times today was he back in the full back line driving balls forwards. He needs to be in the full forward line.
Looked like he was sweeper when Dee went off. Agree we lacked a spark upfront today, taught Mogie did well to give him credit.
Good point, youāre probably right. I dont agree with that either. Heās the most natural forward we have.
Mogie was excellent
That was the craziest thing. When you are not blessed with scoring forwards, playing one so deep is madness.
Conor McDonald won some good ball today but, for me, his striking isnāt sharp enough to play inside. Has he ever been looked at as a centre-forward for any considerable period of time?
Jack OāConnor made an impact when he came on. McGovern was good. The rest were workmanlike at best; again, a lot of them were just too deep to really make an impact.
Galway was fully deserving winners but jeez I havenāt seen a more 1 sided ref for a long time, i could only laugh when Devitt got penalised for Grealish sticking his backside into him.
Davyās time is up
Three home games. Ye are lucky that way.
I thought ye got most of the margin calls, so he probably wasnāt too bad.
Wouldnāt agree at all, Cathal Mannion could easily have got a red in the 1st half too.
Iām in Center Parcs for the weekend (must bring the kids next time) so didnāt get a chance to watch that. Could somebody provide some detailed analysis & talking points for those of us not bothered attending/tuning in?
What way did we set up? OāKeeffe sweeping? Was Dunbar midfield? Where did Hearne play? Did ROC play centre forward? Who was meant to be marking Nilandā¦6 from play?
Did we have a pattern of play & look cohesive at times or did 2 early goals paper over the cracks in a false dawn kind of way? We went from 2-5 to 0-8 up after half an hour to something like 2-6 to 0-20 down after around 50 minutes? To go from level at half time to game over 15 minutes later seems very poor. Did we give up when the going got tough or what? Who actually played well for us? I recall McDonald taking a really bad penalty against them in the 2017 Leinster Final, Iām reading todayās effort was worse.
No point whining about injuries but think it goes without saying that we can hardly do without Chin & Reck if we have any hopes of emerging from the group. Dangerous to overlook Antrim at home next weekend but weād definitely need them for Dublin away in 2 weeks. Does anyone know what their injuries are?
Our season wasnāt going to hinge on todayās game, even though it seems like a tame enough defeat after a great start. We just need to win these next 2 games by hook or by crook. It might seem a long way off now, but we could have a last group game at home to Kilkenny with a Leinster Final place at stake (or we could already be out).
I was hoping the lads that missed most of the league would play themselves into form as this round robin progressed so a new clutch of potential injuries would be a pain in the hole.
Agree, Roc beside Mac would be a lot better. Davy had him wing forward a few times. I think his best position is at the edge of the square. Granted hes not the quickest.
