Scenes reminiscent of last years Walsh Cup final between the same opposition in HQ. The Wexford-Dublin rivalry will define both teams seasons for generations to come if this Round Robin system stays in vogue.

That was the great thing about the championship. You were only beaten once.
Now Waterford ship four hidings annually and Wexford or Dublin ship two bloodless hidings annually against Galway and Kilkenny, and whichever of the two squeaks a win against the other earns the right to a third hiding from a Munster team.
Unless they lose to Laois. Which they might well do.

Laois might not even make the final of the Joe McDonagh to be in the preliminary qualifier. Mouse Kavanagh pegged them back at the death today.

Conor Mac had to be one of the most frustrating players to play for Wexford. Has talent and ability, but just seems happy to meander through games, doing bits and pieces here and there to just about do enough to keep a place on the team. Shocking work rate and just a casual attitude, loves getting nice points off other players work, with a good score here and there to show his talent.
That penalty would piss you right off. It was an absolute nothing attempt. If a chap did it in an U14 game youd be annoyed. But a senior championship game and thats what you do? I’m not sure at this stage does it ever come into the equation that he shouldnt be starting? I’d much rather Jacko in full forward competiting for high balls in and giving his all, even if he isnt as talented or natural as a forward at least he’ll go for the whole game.

Should Burke have gotten a black card for the penalty? Seems to be a rarely used punishment.
Usually gets the first or second score for the Wexford and then disappears for the rest of the first half. You’d nearly set your watch by it

I think if you were making the decision to appoint a manager, you’d have to be seriously concerned about the inherently negative tactics and the decision to put your most talented forward as a sweeper.
Even Davy didn’t do that.
