Itās a very good article, Iām really enjoying him in the Times. He made a very good point at the end about the Wexford markers on the KK marquee forwards.
That Kilkenny should win if theyāre marquee forwards out hurl their man markers?
That was very insightful.
What do you reckon Croppy. Realistically speaking. Will ye take em?
A fair section of the pre-match preview pieces, including Tyrrellās in the Irish Times today, expect Kilkenny to improve markedly from the league quarter final and therefore win. They donāt take into account the possibility that Wexford may have continued on an upward trajectory themselves.
Iām very interested to see how we get on against a Kilkenny team at championship pitch. As mentioned earlier in the week, our lack of pace upfront without Dunne (lightning fast - scored a goal and won a penalty in that league match) and McGovern is a cause for concern while Jack OāConnorās hard running and physicality would also be sorely missed in midfield (if heās out as expected). But itās a case of next man up and Davy hasnāt whinged about injuries at any stage so far.
I understand we worked very hard in Portugal and Iām a little wary of TFKās Clare postersā collective view that Davyās teams lacked freshness in early championship matches due to being run into the ground between end of league and start of championship. That said, we apparently looked in decent shape against Laois but the real test will be on Saturday.
I donāt see anything between the teams. This age group of Wexford hurlers donāt have the same fear that the weāve seen among the squads since the Leinster final in 1997.
I think that Cody will have something new up his sleeve to deal with the sweeper so Davy will need to have the Wexford side ready to react.
Tyrellās piece was very simplistic and weāre far more than a team reliant on Conor Mac to do all the scoring. I can see us winning due to Kilkenny doubling up on Mac and someone else having a big game. i reckon thereāll only be a point or two in it.
Its the hope thatāll kill ya.
Is there any chance Davy could go loco and NOT play the sweeper, go totally against his form so far and go all out attack, shock and awe at the start to prevent the much anticipated āearly Kilkenny goalā?
Now that would be some laugh. Do exactly what Tyrell was alluding to in his article and try and eat into whatever doubts they have.
I reckon thereāll be Wexford players taknig turns to test out Fennellyās fitness. Be worth a card or two if it makes the heads dip.
Davy will have Wexford ready to innovate
Anyone know if Wexford GAA will be erecting a big screen to show Scotland-England at 5pm for those supporters not interested in the Windgap-Shanahoe curtain raiser?
I think itāll be a tight game but England should eventually get the better of the Tory bastards.
Iād like to take this opportunity to wish my e-chums from Wexford the best of luck tomorrow. I hope ye are dancing at the crossroads by evenings end.
Fuck the cats
Shanahoe Gael you fucker, I wonāt remind you again.

God it is a good team
Theyāre just a good team Joseph.
I donāt know much about the wing backs but other than that itās a tasty looking team.
Iād imagine Fogarty and Deegan may switch positions.
Rumour has it John Donnelly was another close to starting.
