[SIZE=5]Tractor accident on Heartbeat set [/SIZE]
Five cast and crew members from the long-running ITV show Heartbeat have been taken to hospital after a tractor accident during filming.
The accident happened in the village of Grosmont, near Whitby, North Yorkshire.
One actor was taken by air ambulance to the James Cook Hospital in Middlesbrough, while the others were taken to hospitals in the area.
It is not yet known how serious the injuries are, but police say none are believed to be life-threatening.
âChest injuriesâ
It is thought the accident happened after a tractor rolled down an embankment.
Three people were taken to Scarboroughâs District hospital and another was taken to a hospital in Whitby.
An ITV spokeswoman confirmed four of the injured had already been discharged from hospital.
She said a âguest actor received chest injuriesâ, but refused to reveal his identity.
âWeâre hopeful heâll be discharged from hospital tomorrow. No further details will be released whilst a Health and Safety Executive investigation is ongoing,â she added.
Heartbeat, which began in 1992, is based on the books of Peter Walker under the pen name Nicholas Rhea.
The nostalgic drama, set in the late 1960s, is about the life of police constable Joe Mason, played by Joe McFadden, who patrols the streets of Aidensfield.
Tricia Penrose and former Coronation Street actress Nikki Sanderson also star in the series, which returns to ITV1 later this year.
The series draws up to seven million viewers in its Sunday night slot
