What an intro

I worked on a contract with an Iranian metalhead, and this was his favorite album. Incidentally, his ability to string together derogatory and racist remarks (directed at the Irish) with his pigeon English was very impressive.

Absolutely no need for an intro to this classic Floyd tune

While on the Pink Floyd theme, this is the intro that has always stuck with me, maybe because it was the first of their albums I bought. This live version is stupendous, OK its missing Waters, but Guy Pratt (married to Rick Wright’s daughter) is an outstanding bass player, Gilmour’s slide guitar, and of course the fucking flying pig.
The original studio version has Gilmour and Waters playing bass on separate channels, Gilmour played a lot of bass with Floyd, including the outstanding bass parts on Pigs.

I’m giving that a like, but the question needs to be asked - how was Pulse, the live album, your first Pink Floyd record? That was 22 years ago, so you were about 45, right? Surely you’d been tempted to buy The Wall? Or Dark Side of the Moon?

Meddle was my first Pink Floyd album, although I didn’t buy it in 1971 when it was released.
One of these days is not on Pulse, it is however on Delicate Sound of Thunder. Although, the above footage I’m pretty sure is from the 1994 tour that Pulse came from, rather than the 1988 tour that resulted in DSOT.
I am not 67.

Is it true that the Wizard of Oz and Dark Side of The Moon Sync up in some way?
Or is that just a myth perpetuated by stoners.

I have never tried it personally (the syncing). The band deny it, I’d be inclined to believe them. Humans have a habit of seeing patterns where there are none and making up stories, the lad in your avatar a good example.

WTF?

Are you a fairy rights campaigner?

You’d be well advised to keep clear of the fairies if you know what’s good for you. Many’s a better man than yourself has lost the battle with them.

I lost a battle with the green fairy once, and have stayed well clear since.

Did you flag his post? A low fucking dig, and bang out of order.

Continuing on the sweeping comments about bands made famous by @Fagan_ODowd I think that Pink Flyod were shit.

Oh - and David Bowie.

Fair play.

That Leonard Cohen fella was fair shit as well,he hadn’t a note in his head.

Agreed on Bowie. Pure tosh musically, but always admired him declining the CBE in 2000 and a knighthood in 2003.
