Is it a race thing? You think there’ll be too many blacks in France unless Le Pen comes in?
Gas to see a country like France colonise a rake of countries and then have issues with people coming to their country (often from those colonies because they were forced into their language)
It would be like the Brits having problems with Irish people coming to their country and Paddy Footix going to their EPL games @Little_Lord_Fauntleroy
It’s to do with compatibility. The majority of people coming from non European countries are of a totally different culture and more often than not make no attempt to integrate into the country they move to. Yes a certain amount of immigration is fine in terms of filling jobs. But too much of anything is bad, and immigration is no different. There needs to be a balance.
Brexit was supposed to give Britain “control” of their borders. And indeed it did.
Who do the far right blame for immigration now? Immigration is a fact of life, lads, it always has been. It’s never ever, ever, ever going to stop. The world doesn’t stand still, much as yis want it to.
Total long-term immigration was estimated at around 1.2 million in 2022, and emigration was 557,000, which means migration continues to add to the population with net migration at 606,000; most people arriving to the UK in 2022 were non-EU nationals (925,000), followed by EU (151,000) and British (88,000).
