What Climate Crisis?

Data centres should be made to build on site energy generation as part of planning. Wind turbines and solar to supply energy required. They should also be made use the excess heat that is removed from the system to provide heating to homes/businesses in the locality. I saw a report of one centre in the country trying this. Very popular in Denmark to buy hot water from the concil or private energy producers

The Amazon data center in Tallaght is supplying recycled heat to local homes

They could force them to recycle the heat back into electricity of course if they wanted to, but it’s expensive and only has about 50% efficiency at the moment.

A great bit o stuff

Zzzzzz…

It also won’t be long before they take over Baldonnell aerodome/airport. They have a fulfilment centre going in there and I can see them doing a deal with the government where they’ll maintain the airport and allow some government use but use it primarily for their transatlantic freight planes

Greta is now 18 so she can run for election next year. It’s time for her now to shit or get off the pot. I assume she’ll keep going as her net worth is already one million Euros.

By the way I like Greta. I wish her well.

i suppose that’s that then

Kilkenny being referred to as a city undermines the rest of that article.

You wouldn’t like greta to have access to any weapons.

The Internet and online data is the biggest source of emissions now. Twitter will eat itself at this news.

Based on this news this morning Micheál must have been biting his lip when he made that speech to the UN.

Bumped for @Little_Lord_Fauntleroy

Not practical depending on site location etc etc. I know Amazon have invested on Irish windfarms in an effort to offset their carbon/electric footprint. That’s a more sensible model.

There are farmers who’d happily handover acres of land for solar farm use but there isn’t the ‘upload’ infrastructure in place to support this model either.

Have you purchased a Diesel generator yet?

Yeah practically is a big thing. The wind farms are a good option to offset. They should push for off shore windfarms. These companies should be pushed to make up the gap of their energy usage. Small scale generation and selling back to grid needs to be looked at but is another issue outside of the data centres.

I’ve sent it up the line mate. I’ll report back soon
