What Climate Crisis?

Greens are really nailing it

The EPA said the increase last year was driven largely by a significant rise in emissions from the energy industries sector due to “a tripling of coal and oil use in electricity generation”.

Moneypoint is Irelands largest emitter of greenhouse gases. They kept that under the radar for a long time.

You cant just switch to renewables in an instant mate

Had they not opposed the LPG plant in Ballylongford then we could have been burning cleaner gas in the meantime.

@Julio_Geordio objecting to the LPG terminal in Ballylongford, Nuclear energy, Turf cutting and oil and gas exploration in Ireland, while at the same time increasing Oil and Coal burning for power generation, all of which has to be imported, seems to be contradictory and just bad economics. It’s a classic Green Party tactic of looking to do the right thing rather than doing the right thing.

Not building the nuclear power plant down in Carne in the 70s was the big mistake. Failure to face down a few hairy hippies was inexcusable then and it is impossible that one will ever be built now.
