Since Christmas I’ve noticed that quite a few airports have been like Dublin.
Even if you are booking Fast Track, you’d want your head examined not coming the recommended 3 hours before a US flight at the minute as things are so unpredictable. I have Global Entry and was still waiting 40 mins at US customs the other week as the asinine extra layer of security was backed up- usually it’s 5 mins.
It is randomly opened and closed. I’ve been trying to book weeks in advance and times just won’t be available beyond a certain time. I highly doubt it is booked up 4 weeks out. They probably are having issues with lunch breaks etc in committing to times.
You need to give three hours in Manchester even with fast track. It’s mental. Voted the worst airport in the UK 5 years running. It’s also absolutely full of scrotes.
Flying out of Manchester is hateful. The only upside is that it makes all other airports bar bodrum seem pleasant.
When I flew out last week, it was 30 minutes to get through usual security and an hour and a half to get through US security and preclearance. You’d need the full 3 hours.
Plus they had no Guinness at 51st and Green. I had been planning to buy a pint and post up a photo. Jokeshop
Same 2 weeks ago when I went out. I gave myself 3 hours and I needed the most of it. Long queues at both security checks but particularly slow at the US pre clearance. We were queuing for ages before we even got to go down the stairs.
Some queue to get through security. Hope its sorted soon or come summer you will have to be in the airport the day before your flight to grt through secuirty.
I was in Manchester airport about 3 weeks ago and it was unbelievably bad. Think if we hadn’t been called forward for our flight would have been close to 3 hours to get through security.
There’s a hape of folk missing flights because of it.
We are due to fly from Manchester to Italy on Ryanair soon. A perfect storm of unpleasantness (bar the Italy bit)
If nothing else, you’d think they’d sort it out as it must be costing the airside outlets a fortune in lost revenue.
