Why should there be jobs set aside for women in universities?

I picked it up wrong so. Still, a big assumption there.

I did. You axed a question and I answered you.

I’m not sure if the woman is capable of thinking

Will ‘no man need apply’ be included in the job advertisements?

There’s been a lack of recruitment/ promotion in the sector since the crash. I know of numerous places where senior staff left/retired and were replaced by those coming in at a much more junior level, as opposed to appointing someone significantly more experienced to the higher position (e.g. an assistant lecturer replacing a senior lecturer )

So these roles are required as opposed to being a token gesture. Which is fine but as she has stated there will be a certain number of positions created each year for women only are the positions going to go to departments that need them every year or will any qualification do just to fill the quota and will roles be created in certain departments be created to meet this need?

A professor I disagreed with blocked me on twitter

Well that’s bullshit. Every department in a university has X amount of SLs. If someone retires or leaves lecturers apply for the vacant SL. An AL will be brought in to backfill the hours but it’s not like an AL is taking over the work of an SL.

Pal. It’s not bullshit. I know this for a fact.
I know someone who took an AL position twelve months ago that was previously filled by a SL. They’ve yet to hire a SL or even advertise it

So the AL on 38k is doing all the duties of an SL who would be on 80k? Have a lie down mate. The TUI wouldn’t allow this for a start.

It’s true. And the kicker is that the AL actually does more teaching hours

PS are you sure TUI represent at University level or is it just ITs?

What would the highest level of academia pay?

Senior lecturers in the jobs years could be up to 100k.

Fucking hell that’s shocking. You spend 7/8 years studying then go onto 38k a year maxing out at 100k. You’d want your head examined

Professorship would be up around 120-180 depending on university. SLs and HoDs 70-100.

Aye. It’s pretty low paying work.
Heads of Department etc can command more.

Edit: as @ambrose_mcnulty points out, professorship is relatively lucrative in a not very lucrative game

What’s the other one again?

Think it’s IFUT

Soon every minority will have its own jobs assigned to it. The LGBTQA-Z community will be next for the handy academic gigs and that bint in UL will be top of the list with Badchips to be parachuted into a TDs position.
