Never said that.
Upgrading existing building to B ratings would be better than people being homeless and buildings falling into further decline.
It’s all well and good with new builds but more housing around Leopardstown etc causes more traffic & infrastructural headaches
That said.
I know a lad who moved from the private sector to the civil service 2 weeks ago he is stunned by the inefficiency, lack of interest and lack of accountability.
There’s gobshites in every job.
I’ve no idea what you’re on about. If rules aren’t working I’d suggest changing them.
Yes. We should throw all available resources at housing.
True. Let the civil servants oversee all the house building. They have certainly kept the costs of the National Children’s Hospital under control.
Wood, Insulation, plaster, electrical….costs went up massively, are coming down slightly recently but still far more expensive than pre covid.
Civil service lads shaking their heads. Sure what would the lad paying for the material know…

What exactly is this about? The grants to upgrade vacant buildings? Are they tied to energy ratings?
The civil servants should be running the country.

I know a lad who started in the civil service about 3 months ago and he is cracking up because “no one does anything” and “I can’t get anything done”
I tried to explain the JG philosophy that only a fool works for a living, but I don’t think he’s the type. You just have to go with the flow with these things. Don’t let it beat you down, actively embrace it.
Cunt has a day off every month for doing “overtime” and he doing nothing in normal time. Living the dream
Workers with flexitime can take work additional hours to take up to 1.5 days off a month.
he will be hated in there
More or less the case already by the sounds of it.

Sounds about right.
Although I do have a mate working in the housing dept who seems permanently up the walls busy. He may be wildly exaggerating though
It would be hand written in a book I suspect.
Or printed on the dot matrix printer.
After tea break, which normally merges into lunch break.

Pretty sure flexitime is only available for lower grades in there. Strange for the all round dynamo that is your mate.
This is his third or fourth career, one of those lads
