World Cup Round of 4
I’d have picked Ronaldinho and built a team of those brutes around him to let him do his thing. Had a good season for Mineiro.

Gene Hackman would’ve done a better job of assembling a Brazil squad.
Robinho and Kaka must have been worth a go too, particularly considering the alternatives. Robinho might be identified with a failing Brazil team in 2010 but he showed he could finish a chance at that tournament.

Coutinho for me was the most baffling omission. He does all the working for the team, tackling and closing down that you need, but can run with the ball, play the killer pass and get into good positions and finish. Paulinho on the other hand can do none of that. Scolari spent the last six months saying that he didn’t care what Paulinho’s form for Tottenham was like.

Bolton

what a way to go into a final…germay will be absolutely buzzing…all their players will be brimming with confidence and will have an extra 24 hours and a second half´s rest than the opposition…

warden of the north??..o_O

What?

I feel sorry for the Brazil players.

He seemed to ignore all guile for physicality. That’s blatantly obvious.

He made Dunga in 2010 look like Telly Savalas*.

*Tele Santana

Johnville wouldn’t beat much these days by all accounts

What are the words to Fields of Athenry in Portuguese?

The Fields of Gort.

are we better than brazil because the germans only beat us 6-1 at home?..

Fuck yeah.

Brazil were crying out for an Andy Reid or a Wes Hoolahan there tonight.

The English translation of “Belo Horizonte” has now been officially changed to “Beaten Horizontal”.

Hummels looked fucked after the game, limping badly.
Some technique for the Germans for nearly all the goals, despite the defending.

Yeah there’s a real danger that the brilliance of Germany will be played down due to the fact that Marcelo and Luiz were clueless. The Klose goal in particular was awesome.

Big Phil was badly lacking there. Jaysus if it was a junior B game as soon as the second goal went in the manager would have told a player to go down and he would have regrouped the team there and then. Instead he had a head on him like Davy in the 2008 All Ireland

And Pato.

And Lucas Moura.

He couldn’t pick them all but he eschewed guile for graft in every decision.
