World darts championships 2017

3-2 in sets!

George Durrant is on his feet and roaring.

Both families going through agony down on the floor.

Duzza holds throw in the first leg of set 6.

I fear for Paul now, I really do.

After somehow wriggling off the hook when he was already on the bank, Duzza has turned the tables and is now inexorably reeling the Crocodile in.

That’s better from Paul.

1-1 in set 6.

Paul bends the wire on d18 for a 156.

Duzza holds with a struggle for 2-1.

If Paul holds throw here, the psychology could well change again - we’d be into potential last leg territory.

And Paul holds. Comfortably.

2-2 in set 6.

This is a Limerick-esque collapse

And after being 3-0 down in sets and 2-0 down in legs, Duzza is level at 3-3!

What a match.

Paul Hogan about to suffer a similar sporting collapse to his fellow countryman Greg Norman. Sharks and crocs are usually the ones savaging the opponents not the other way around.

Off we go in the decider.

The last train has left Frimley Green station but nobody has gone home.

It’ll be a good night for taxi drivers in North West Surrey.

Durrant is an anagram of Dart Run and my god Duzza is on a huge one since the start of the 4th set.

Duzza breaks, first leg.

The first time he’s led in the whole match.

Only one winner from here, you would think.

Paul misses two darts at double 16. Glen hits d2.

Paul is furious with himself.

The psychology of sport.

Spirited resistance from the Croc.

2-1.

Duzza throwing for the match. Starts with 140.

Duzza wins!

Have you ever seen anything like that?

Duzza seems like a right cunt with his badge kissing after nearly getting humiliated by a nobody! 60 year old Wolfie looks the most likely to win it out and that says enough.

Greatest Middlesbrough 4-3 comeback win since the 2006 UEFA Cup semi-final.

Duzza should treat himself to his favourite 'Boro delicacy, parmo, after that.

Lovely comments by Duzza towards Paul in the post match interview, admitting that Paul should have won and saying that he really felt for him after suffering similar agonising defeats himself on that stage over the last two years.

Sad to see @Watchyourtoes denigrating him like that - clearly he knows nothing about the high emotion of elite sport - especially when a player escapes by the skin of his teeth and then pulls off a remarkable come from behind victory.

Wily veteran Lisa Ashton has defeated Fallon Sherrock 2-0.

I saw on twitter just there that some youngfella in the junior event won with a higher average than any of the competitors in the men’s event have managed so far.
