Worst 15 Ever to win an All-Ireland
Pushing, not lifting.

It was quite an advanced training drill by the standards of the day in GAA.
Its only foolish when you lose.

Hurling since 1987

 1. James McGarry (Kilkenny)
 2. Shane McGuckin (Offaly)
 3. Ger Cushe (Wexford)
 4. James Ryall (Kilkenny)
 5. Richie Mullally (Kikenny)
 6. Eamonn Kennedy (Kilkenny)
 7. Kieran McGuckin (Cork)
 8. Paddy Mullally (Kilkenny)
 9. Brendan O’Sullivan (Cork)
 10. Jimmy Coogan (Kilkenny)
 11. Fergal McCormack (Cork)
 12. Neil Ronan (Cork)
 13. Stephen McNamara (Clare)
 14. Brendan Kelly (Offaly)
 15. Declan Pilkington (Offaly)

Wrong Kennedy at centre back for me

Either would have been a worthy choice. Gary Laffan is very unlucky not to make the team at full-forward but he was up against an unbeatable opponent in Brendan Kelly.

Shane McGuckin was decent. Tomas Costello should be nailed on this team. Sidney, this looks more like a team of lads you can’t recall that well rather than the worst team. Eamon Scallan another glaring omission. Neil Ronan had his moments

I won’t have Ballyhea’s Neil Ronan disparaged on this forum.

David herity Kilkenny, Gary Laffan Wexford

No room for the much maligned Timmy McCarthy?

He’s looking for a reaction braz. All he is showing is a lack of knowledge of what it takes to win. McGuckin was as stylish a hurler you could get, a master of the sideline cut. Neil Ronan was gifted for fuck sake.

Fergal McCormack? I aint so sure about that. He was a very important man in that forward line. Deane, McGrath and Ben O’Connor were fast, skilful, scorers but McCormack provided physique, ball winning ability and distributed the ball well. Harsh inclusion

Eamonn Scallan is a must. Did Joe Dermody win an All Ireland?

He was immense that year. He was being ridiculed left right and centre and just got better and better. He was superb in te Final.

I don’t think Sid is that ignorant to be honest, surely he understands the role FM had and his skills. And surely he is doing itto wind up the Cork contingent.

He didnt but whats your problem with Joe?

Is James McGarry a selector in Kilkenny now? Bodes well.

Depends what kind of All-Ireland you are talking about.

Niall Ronan was an exceptional hurler.

So exceptional you can’t even get his name right.

Ger Cushe not getting an All Star in 1996 was a bigger disgrace than Brian Whelehan not getting one some other year.

Laffan scored 4 points in a two man full forward line to win an all Ireland.

That Viking ape at ff for tipp in '89 was hopeless.
