Worth a flutter...?

After the Grand National there’s a bumper run every year. This year a jockey called Russ Garrity was due to ride a horse named Lease Land. This was to be the last race for Garrity before retiring. Anyway due to a Grand National horse getting badly injured and being treated on the course the bumper was abandoned and Garrity decided to delay his retirement.

Tonight Garrity and Lease Land are due to run at Aintree - not sure what time but it’s between eight and nine I think. Garrity is now retiring after this race. I think he’s 20/1

Not sure whether this is sufficient evidence to back a horse or not but at 20/1 he might be worth a small each-way interest, seems strange that Garrity delayed his retirement otherwise.

I wouldn’t.

Theatrical Moment for me in that race.

Think he tends to act up quite a bit.

Theatrical moment won at 6/5 but Lease Lend came 3rd at an SP of 12/1 so he paid out nicely.

Lay Osasuna against Sociedad on sat. Sociedad badly need the points to have any chance of avoiding relegation and apparantly all of the Basque clubs help each other out in situations like this.

Sociedad are 13/10 and Osasuna are 13/8 even though they are home. The lay on PP is 2/5. Any thoughts?

Well if Real Sociedad do get out of trouble it will likely be at the expense of Athletic Bilbao who are just above them so one of the two Basque teams down there looks likely to go down. So not sure that would count as Osasuna helping the Basque country out.

I don’t think Sociedad or Athletic would be helping eachother out even if one had nothing to play for. They’re very competitive for a small group of players and there was a really drawn out court case between the two over a transfer (Zubiaurre) which means they really don’t like eachother at the moment.

Not sure how much of this applies to Osasuna because they’re seen as peripheral to the Basque identity but I’d be reluctant to give any special credence to favours between the clubs.

Osasuna won 2-0 comfortably.

Great win for Bilbao agaist Malloraca will hopefully be enough to keep them safe.

;D Lucky i forgot all about it then. Godamn revista de la liga!
