He was a gambling addict. He never really took his situation seriously though as he probably thought as he was mates with Tony he would be ok. It wasnât said explicitly but it was hinted at.
Tony took his sons car and gave it to meadow afair
Knew he had some addiction issue ,wasnât sure of it was booze or gambling âŚhow did it end for him ?I canât remember
Poor aul Dukie. He was dealt a really shit hand.
A gentle young fella
Yeah. A decent sort. Just before that he went looking for a job in a few shops. No one would hire him cos he wasnât 16. He came so close to dragging himself out of the gutter a few times. That was the most tragic part of it.
Namonds mother used make him wait outside whilst letting all the other kids into the house. That was particularly cruel
I think he headed somewhere to âdry outâ or whatever the gambling equivalent is. He lost the shop as you mentioned.
Itâs sketchy so Iâm open to correction.
That was it. He lost the shop and gambled all the young ladâs college money away as well.
Jake from Jake and the Fatman stepped in to pay for the college though.
Not before getting a sneaky shift in with Carm, mind.
Iâm a bit unsure myself, did he not join some crazy online sports and agri forum and was re-invented as a guidance counselor. Maybe Iâm mixing him up with someone elseâŚ
She was a right cunt
Season 1 episode 1 on currently if you want to watch from the beginning on 4music
Bubbles for me. He may have had a redemption arc but I still think he counts as a tragic character. His life was pretty shit for the vast majority of the show.
Dukie, as a mini Bubbles, is probably even more tragic but not as fleshed out. (if Dukie was to undergo a redemption arc in 40 years time, itâd still have been a pretty shit run)
Poor Larry never catches a break
Dukie getting in with that crowd on the horse and cart at the end was so awful. The smack takes the pain away of course.
Is that Peyton Manning?
Always thought something sad about John Walton Snr
