Your top 3 Gaa moments of 2017

@carryharry nailed it

Beating Clare was number 4

It’s unlikely to make any highlights reel but us beating the worst KK team to ever grace a hurling field will live long in my memory. The absolute inner doubt that’s bred into us couldn’t be lifted until the final whistle went.

We were a few points up with time nearly over and still everyone around me, and me included expected us to throw it away. It seemed different to 2004 or 97 or 96. Maybe it was that it was at home and that most there had no recollection of us beating them there.

In hindsight, had we lost it we’d have looked shocking given how bad KK were but that sense at the end of relief is something that will stay with me.

From a personal point of view, there is only one moment that surpasses all the rest in 2017 and it eclipses any other GAA moment in my life to date. My half of the parish had never won a County hurling title at adult level, there are oul fellas in the village who have been waiting for it all their lives. It was unbelievable to be part of of it, absolutely unreal!

On the County level, it was great to win another U-21 All-Ireland but I always felt they were the best team and never in danger of losing. Even when run close by Cork and Galway, you always felt they had an extra gear if needed. Still, nice to beat Kilkenny so convincingly, banish the memories of 2014 minor. Favourite moment was Robbie Hanley’s four tackles leading to a point in the final. Class.

The real standout moment was Rob Childs point for the 21 footballers and subsequent win over Tipp. One of the great nights in the Gaelic Grounds, just a super atmosphere and very enjoyable occasion.

But winning a County title… Hard to bate that.

These are personal moments I suppose?

There were quite a few in the Cork-Mayo rollercoaster game where I stood to make a few bob off @Nembo_Kid but @Locke and DS Ireland were the real winners (another moment of the year)
The moment I realised that Tipp were bate by that exciting Cork team.
JC’s point in the semi.

Gavin McParland’s point against Kildare was out of this world.

People picking Joes point against Tipp when the ball was clearly thrown to him and a free out should of occurred. :rollseyes:

If you look closely you’ll see it too.

Picking out a score which was entirely illegal isn’t smart, pal.
