Think Adams used these lads really. Certainly had an impact I would argue as SF saw the power of constitutional nationalism but smearing shit on walls was a bit much imo.

the issue was that people who fought to free the 6 were not criminals - it was a pretty big issue

the hunger strikers died because they refused to be classed as criminals- the fact that all IRA prisoners are now out of jail & in some cases in government suggest that achieved their goal.also the Provisional IRA came about in the late 60’s when nationalists were been burned out of their homes & lived with state inequality- the free state allowed this to happen, the IRA didnt-
