2010/2011 English Premier League Discussion Thread

Think they could struggle for fourth with Tottenham.

I concur. Without invenstment Arsenal have gone stale.

Dont think goalscoring will be a problem for Arsenal this season but they have no interest in winning the ball back. Alex Song lacks pace and positional sense which is a big problem in a side lack Arsenal as he seems to be the only one in midfield capable of making a tackle. Put Nigel de Jong in that side and Id fancy them to win the league. Fabregas hamstring troubles continue aswell. Cant see them getting anything from City at the weekend but if they can hang on until the likes of Van Persie,Walcott and Fabregas get back they could have a say in it.

David Silva coming good for City is crucial I feel. Mancini will get rid of Hughes’s dross - Bridge, Santa Cruz, SWP in time too.

Very few. I already stated that did I not. No need to get so defensive KIB. I was criticising the huge gap in standards between top teams in all of the main leagues across Europe. England is probably worse than most in terms of same teams dominating but it is by no means alone. Shan said you can’t afford to rest players in EPL. I think that is nonsense. There is a huge difference in quality between a team like Chelsea and the vast majority of the others.

I think they went closer than people appreciate last season. Two big problems for them were Almunia and missing RVP. They addressed the RVP thing and Chamakh looks a decent understudy. They really need to replace Almunia in January and I think they will. Gallas was a loss but not a massive one, although Koscielny does look to be shaky. They’ve plenty of tippy tap players but they’ve a few lads who can put themselves about too. If they improve in the six pointers against the top teams, they’ve got a shot.

Who are the commentators on Sky Sports tonight?

I think it’s Kevin Phillips as the co-commentator/analyst anyway.

Sky reporting that Rooney is certain to leave Man Utd and IS open to a move to Man City.

It’s Daniel Mann with the microphone apparently. Lovely turn of phrase there:

“Michel Salgado turned the page on that very quickly as you’d expect for a man of his experience.”

Oh how I’d laugh.

Sir Alex has confirmed that Wayne Rooney has told him that he wants to leave Utd…

 ol whiskey nose won’t be happy until he’s overseen the destruction of that club.

Rooney can fuck off now. What a waste of space.

Don’t worry Shan, Sheasy will always be loyal to Utd

Sheasey would do a better job at the moment than that granny shagger. What a despicable person.

At least they still have Wes Brown
Any one remeber that Hitler scene from the downfall, reacting to the news that Ronaldo was leaving the club.

No doubt it will be revived soon enough.

Where will he realistically move to? I reckon Blackburn will come in for him.

Must have been loads of them. I remember the Sheff United one when they were relegated.

Tranmere maybe. The top club in Liverpool.

EPL Runt must be seething at the possibility of another one of “his” big “stars” leaving for mainland Europe.
