Wasn’t a great game from what i saw, but Andy Gray is going to be blowing about how great the EPL is again after this. Poor defending all over the shop.
Clarke really is a propect, defended well enough from what i saw, and has an eye for goal. With no little pace as well. As KIB points out above, the Irish are not exactly tearing it up, this guy needs a chance with the National team.
A lot better from Villa today. Organised and a bit of spirit for a change. Went back to the MON ways today - 4 centre halves and played for set pieces. Thought Villa played very well in the first half but predictably shat the course after we went ahead in the second. Dropping Warnock was a benefit, useless cowardly cunt that lad. Wouldnt quite be giving it Clark being the saviour at left back as said in a previous thread Kalou exposed him a bit when he came on. Collins was stupid for the penalty harsh or not. A comedy of errors for the second and Friedel had to make a few saves too. It must be said that any chances tended to come from Clark’s side. Cuellar should have pushed up a couple of times too to play them offside. , Albrighton was dire for the third which in fairness Terry finished well. Cant emphasise enough how poor Chelsea were. Malouda, Lampard in the second half and Kalou when he came on did well but they are carrying too many out of form players at present.
Felt Houllier should have replaced either Reo Coker or Petrov with about 15 mins to go as they lacked energy. But he saves his bacon with the result today.
Talk of Real Madrid taking him on loan for the rest of the season. That’d be an interesting deal, Madrid will pay his 130K wages but City are looking for a permanent move.
And United march on. A scrappy win over Stoke makes it a good Christmas/New year haul of 10 from 12. I would have taken that before the 4 games especially the way they are playing at the moment. The cup now against Liverpool to look forward to.
Just watched the highlights on Sky. Two lovely goals. The robbery at the Hawthorns made up for the sloppy lost points at St Andrews, so a good Christmas/New Year alright. Looking forward to watching Arsenal and City take points off each other tomorrow night now.
As i said the other week, mancini’s signings all seem to be thorough professonals and have little or no egos(balotelli aside), most of these dispicable cunts were signed by previous managers…give him another 6 months and a lot of them will be gone
