2010/2011 English Premier League Discussion Thread

Mick McCarthy was pumped at the final whistle.

United the big winners tonight.

+1

Lazarus, if City want to win the league this year (not sure if that’s what you’re getting at), then they were not good tactics because they need to win games to close the gap to United.

Rocko, Tyler and Gray have probably commentated together on a few hundred games over the last 20 years. Do you not think it’s perfectly natural that they’d be good friends now and that will inevitably come through in the commentary. I have no problem with it. I find Tyler to be the best soccer commentator in Britain or Ireland by a distance anyway.

You have to weather the inevitable storm when you play against Arsenal who under Wenger know only one style of play. Mancini acknowledged this with his lack of any real offensive or even counter offensive gameplan, hence leaving any real openings for the Gunners even more reduced than they otherwise would be. Jo’s role in all of this is simplistic but effective to say the least and his inclusion tonight had more to do with question over the fitness and temprement of his other options up front. It’s Mancini’s capacity to adapt that re-enforces my original point re winning the title before Wenger.

I can’t back it up but wasn’t there talk a few years ago about them falling out? Maybe I imagined it though. It used to always be Gray + Tyler and then the other combinations but now the co-commentators get mixed and matched a bit with the different lead commentaors. I find the two of them incredibly annoying because they spout shit like this all too regularly:

“This is actually the first time Wolves have won at ‘X’ since 1984. Do you know who scored the winner in that game?”

“Hehehe. Was it me?”

“It was indeed a certain Mr. Andy Gray.”

“Probably a header!”

“It was!”

“Hehehe.”

Fuck off and die, you utter cunts.

From Saturdays game between West Brom and United

Tyler- That goal from James Morrison was scored at 1.01pm on the 1/1/2011.

Gray- Only you would come up with something like that Mr Tyler!!!

Cunts.

Embarrassing defending from Glen Johnson for the first goal tonight.

Good examples of their innanity there lads.

I don’t give a shit if they’re chums Braz, we don’t need to know about it. It’s how Alan Partridge carries on during his radio show but he’s taking the piss.

There was something along these lines tonight:

“The last time Arsenal got a draw in front of the Sky cameras at the Emirates was against Manchester City.”
“Was it nil nil?”
“Yep. Did you know it or were you guessing?”
“Ha ha I knew it.”
“Ha ha. The bosses on high don’t let us talk about nil nil draws too often.”

Shut the fuck up the pair of you.

There were rumours of a rift alright Bandage. I think at one stage Tyler refused to do games other than Super Sunday or something so he got moved down the pecking order for big weekend games or something and there was talk of a falling out.

Yeah, I guess that stuff just doesn’t bother me. I find Tyler to have by far the best knowledge and understanding of football of any commentator on TV at the moment.

That’s never struck me when listening to him. I only like Ian Crocker and nobody else.

Tyler has a great voice for commentary. Thats about it.

I actually think that Andy Gray is unlistenable.

Always liked Tyler myself, although he is getting progressively worse as time goes by, Sky have certainly downgraded him in recent years and there were reports a few years ago he was getting the chop, it was the sam year Liverpool won the CL and Gerrard scored the late winner v olympiakos and Gray did his “you beauty” and upstaged him(for use of a better word) Ian Darke was mioved from boxing to soccer soon after that match

Pablo Zabaleta has had his red card from Wed night overturned

double post

Ah for fuck sake.

He’s just wumming now, going around telling us stuff he’s seen on another thread, surely?

Becks doing a medical at the Wailing Wall as we speak. Sorry that should read the Spurs training ground at Chigwell…

Wonder will shirt sales go through the roof in mickee’s part of the world?

Bad business by the Yids, not often you’d say that

Wailing wall

Story goes that Spurs have Pienaar signed up for next season on a free and are listening to offers for Aaron Lennon. Beckham is back up on the right and nothing more as 'Arry doesnt trust Bentley and would sling 'im in the morning, innit?

Mick McCarthy’s Wolves leads at COMS :o

Wolves are currently one of the form teams in the EPL

City starting to steam roll them here. 3-1 now.
