2010/2011 English Premier League Discussion Thread

I thought that was a penalty all right, Shan. I definitely don’t think it was one of those hand ball + red card instances though. It wasn’t one of those blatant ones done on purpose like Suarez in the World Cup or something. He slid in trying to make a genuine block but had had his hand up fairly high and that’s why I would have given it. But the keeper was still there too and maybe another defender between ball and goal so it wasn’t a certain goal (I think).

Some guy playing with Newcastle today looked around 10 years old. Ferguson is his name. Think jimmy the BDO darts man posted about him before.

Some save from Green to stop Bale’s late free kick.

Evans challenge was a clear red card. Two feet off the ground, diving in - doesn’t matter if he gets the ball. It’s dangerous.

I also don’t think Cahills handball was a penalty. Ball to hand.

Mancini tossed a suitcase at Ballotelli after the game the other night

In other news, Fabio has handed the armband back to JT, and spent his time at OT yesterday giving Rio the slip. Tremendous professionalism there!

Opening 15 mins at Stadium of Light has been dire stuff.

Suarez isnt, eh, afraid to let Carroll know when he’s not happy with him is he?

I’d say they’re two lads with fairly high opinions of themselves. Sunderland hit with two injuries already. Spearing isn’t up to this level just yet either.

Not a penalty.

No, it was outside the box alright. I hear the crowd singing their own version of Celtics song.

Dirk Kuyt 350/1 for top scorer - chaaaaaaarrrrrrggge!!!

was shan not taking the piss? I thought he was being sarcastic and having a laugh.

Carroll has been very poor so far today. Liverpool getting some crazy decisions as well from the officials!

I thought that Kevin Phillips was very harsh on Carroll for the chance he had. He said that ‘he had to score’ but I thought he did about as much as he could. He wasn’t great in general play though but that was his first league start.

Suarez is class. Gone off injured now - hopefully not too serious.

Good win even if the performance was pretty mediocre. Meireles doesn’t look at all comfortable in that system and it robs the team of his creativity through the middle. Suarez put in a decent shift and the goal was well taken. Carroll looked every penny of that £3.5m.

Surely it was 0.35 Mil.

That was quite tidy there from Ramirez. A Brazilian 1-2 today for Chelsea and Mancini can concentrate on the FA Cup now.

Torres poor again by all accounts.

Concentrate on going out of it. The City team with the likes of goater were a bigger threat to United than this team.

The Goat was a stone cold legend.

Still haunts me to this very day.
