Would a few hammerings make any difference to the Justin situation. I saw an interview with him after the UCC game and he looked like a man on the edge.
No, No-one does these sort of things better than Limerick. The Cork one went on for a while, clare one dragged on a bit longer than it should have too but no-one holds a light to Limerick in these cloak "n"dagger type situations. A fact I’m sure they will acknowledge themselves. Nobody will be willing to lose “face” and this could still be going on this time next year.
Hard to know, the players in Limerick don’t have the same level of support the Cork players did. Not a single club raised the issue at the last county board meeting. A few hammerings in the league might change there tune but to be honest it seems to usual Limerick apathy is settling in around the whole situation.
Just goes to show the harm tall tales can do. A lot of lads probably played up to the wild boys image but when the shit hits the fan no one will take you seriously.
a few hammerings, a small bit of a rebellion with a few knives in someones back, in comes TJ, and things resume as they always were with everyone happy again.
or
a few hammerings and then a few more hammerings.
one of these is best case scenario and the other is the worst.
Martin Kiely is the biggest cancer found on the rotting carcass that is Limerick hurling. His scurrilous character assasination on a player who has represented Limerick in hurling and football at all levels since the late 1990s is an utter disgrace.
An equally big disgrace is the lack of outcry from the clubs about what that wanker has written about their players. Croom did complain but no other club was bothered. How they can stand by while that fucker denigrates the name of Limerick hurling is beyond me.
As Damien Reale said “If I am not my brother’s keeper…I am not his brother” or words to that effect. I have seen some blaggardings in my time but I’ve never seen a witch hunt like this, hounding a player out of the game he has given the best years of his life to by a so-called scribe trying to make a name for himself. If this player is such a ‘cancer’ how has he been playing hurling and football for Limerick for years without being dropped by ANY manager, until this year? He is not the most natural or beautiful hurler in the world but having seen this player sweat blood for Limerick (in football it’s even easier to see the effort put in) I think it’s a complete outrage that he is scapegoated (like he was in 2008 with the hysteria over a piss take answer in a meaningless programme interview) to the extent that some people now believe that this player is the reason Limerick are 37 years and counting without an All Ireland and 14 years without even a Munster title. Martin Kiely meanwhile seems to enjoy pissing petrol on the fire that is cremating the game in Limerick.
