We’ve discussed this in detail already Bandage, but for what it’s worth I agree with you. [quote=“Bandage, post: 589085”]
I see mention of the Haika there and I was thinking myself how fucking annoying it must be for the competing teams over there. Every time they have an open training session or visit a school or hospital or go on an outing on an off day, they’re met with a pack of retards standing in front of them jumping up and down and roaring. This Haika bollox is a load of shit.* Get out of my face.
Other than the time the Munster ‘B’ players did one back to the All Blacks ‘C’ team a couple of years ago. That was deadly.

I actually have a feeling that they will perform quite well and there won’t be much in this game. Little or no expectation and they will be well up for this. I would expect the scrum to hold it’s own and if Best can be any way consistent with his throwing I would expect the lineout to do well, although I would like us to compete for opposition ball a bit more. Even though we have been playing poor enough from an attacking point of view our defence has been very sound so far in the 5 games over the last month or so.
Reckon we are in for another moral victory going down by 5 or 6 points to an Aussie side in third gear
agreed on the moral victory, I’ve taken Irl +11
Our scrum would want to be doing a damn sight more than merely holding the aussies/fijians/guineans/etc. though.
Agree with what you are saying their, we should be trying to get the upper hand in the scrum though as it is an area, we could win penalties from. We have to compete with their line out as well. We should get away with our lack of physicality at the breakdown in this match, but Pocock will savage us unless Heaslip is sent out to compete with him. I’d rather let SOB play his own game. Our defense will hold up, but it depends how much possession Aus get. We won’t be able to keep them out all the game, if they have a lot of possession.
Stopping Genia and Cooper will be a big ask, hopefully Ferris and SOB will be in Coopers face all day, he can be rattled if you can get at him. Keeping the ball will be very important, and I hope Kearney doesn’t kick away aimlessly as we will be punished. Kearney will be key tomorrow.
Going by his comments in the Indo, we could be in trouble.
t’s brilliant to be back. I’m not going to change a huge amount – if it’s on I’ll have a go and try and show what the back three are capable of. But I think there is going to be a lot of aerial play this weekend. I wouldn’t be surprised if both teams do a fair bit of kicking.
If we keep possession and some of our attacking plays come off, we are in with a chance. On top of that we you have to keep Genia, Cooper and Pocock quiet, which may be too big of an ask.
I don’t think Australia rate us that highly and they had their own troubles recently against Samoa. While we haven’t been clicking I think it’s a world away from the last World Cup and I expect everyone to have targeted this came mentally anyway. I think our defence should be good enough and if we can rattle and frustrate them then they might start making silly mistakes.
What are you talking about, have you anything useful to say, how do you think we should approach the match tomorrow ?, or will I get another smart arsed comment back.
i will be cheering on australia in this game so havent thought about the west brits approach to the game- australia only have to turn up & go through the motions to win
Australia by 15 plus. Nothing against Ireland’s 15 or form, just think Australia are that much better than us at present and will win this WC. I’ll be happy to be proven wrong.
