Not really sure mate, haven’t seen much of him. A big athletic midfielder who puts in the hard yards and has a bit of technique about him, by all accounts. Benfica are a very shrewd club in the transfer market and still possess a very strong squad despite losing the likes of Di Maria, David Luiz, Coentrao and Ramires in the past 12 months.

They tried to sell the exorbitant Carroll fee last January by spinning a tale about how their strategy was to pay a maximum of £15m less than what they recouped for Torres.
So they were happily telling everyone that £35m was okay and not ridiculous because they got £50m in themselves.
Trouble is the precedent it’s set. Because every time they go in for a player they’ll be met with ‘eh, you paid £35m for Carroll so that means our player is worth at least X.’
And ‘X’ has been very, very high for Henderson and Downing.
More crazy money considering what £20m could get you if you looked outside England.
I am concerned about Daglish and Comolli’s transfer policy.

Considering they had Meireles and Aquilani on the books I thought the purchase of Charlie Adam was rather strange as well. Granted Aquilani could well be loaned out again but Adam has one season wonder written all over him
