Madrid have a wonderful squad of players. In any other era you would have to say they would be dominating La Liga, but for a special side in Barcelona…
Agree that he is flaky btw and that he was poor in his second season at Real. I think you’re underestimating how good he was first season though and in the round, it is bullshit to say he flopped there.
I would say that in the eyes of most Real Madrid fans he was seen as a flop. Madrid hold their players to higher standards than most and one good season and one shit season and being sold for nearly half of what they paid for him would be seen as a flop by their standards.
No he isn’t. He is pretty limited actually. Failure at Arsenal, Chelsea and Real. Only stint where he has been successful was Pompey. No where near as effective as the majestic De Jong. Remember how woeful he was getting outplayed by Whelan and Andrews? Decent athlete and can be ok on the ball but positionally he is all over the place and needs a move to a club that will let him develop as a player.
Never been impressed with Gago either. Tidy on the ball but not much else to him.
Eto’o is on the verge of signing for Anzhi Makhachkala.
Salary of €415k per week! Obscene amount of money is the phrase usually used in these circumstances but that really is an extraordinary amount of money in a football context.
obscene amount of money. are these lads owned by some oil baron?
Gago is more than tidy on the ball and whe fully fit and playing well he is an excellent creative midfielder, has serious vision and an ability to pick a pass. Braz maintains Sneijder was excellent back in the 2007/2008 but form my recollection it was the centre midfield of Guti and Gago that were the real creative hub for Madrid that season and along with a resurgent Raul were the catalysts for that title under Schuster. Has struggled with injury and form ever since though I would doubt he would be as suited to the likes of the EPL as he would la liga
Lass is sound positionally, very tactically astute player who follows orders well.
The majestic De Jong.
Not quite at Iniesta’s level yet mate.
Ridiculous comparison
Arda Turan has joined Athletico Madrid for €12 million
Fabregas to Barcelona looks like it’s finally done.
29m Euro up front
a further €6m based on appearances and trophies etc.
a further €5m from the player himself which will be paid over 5 years and deducted from the player’s wages.
:o
How’s this predicition from Tinnion looking?
This whole cescapade has really hurt me. He’s really burned his bridges with Arsenal fans, I really hope it goes pear shaped for him at Barca.
Don’t get me started on Nasri the little shit.
The little Japanese fella and the Ox have a lot to live up to. I’ve never seen either of them play but I’m just gonna keep telling myself they’re gonna be world class this season.
It is being claimed that Liverpool have agreed a deal for Enrique from Newcastle
Source CM?
It’s on Twitter Farmer, George Caulkin of the London Times says there has been movement on it. He’s a NE club specialist so presume he would be a reasnoably reliable source.
It’s All over Twitter with various reporters aligned to both teams reporting it
It was a ridiculous superlative or title to give De Jong.
Considering your comparison of Iniesta and De Jong in the past and the fact that only one of them really can be called majestic makes farmers comment the perfect quip for your outrageous comment.
