Kev seems to be unable to address a poster without putting some sort of insult in there. I think it says more about him than it says about anyone else really.
He also seems to think he is always right, and is the foremost authority on everything. No matter how much he is beaten in a debate he will come up with the most half baked notion to cling on to.
I try not to engage anymore with him because there is no winning.
Kevin Nolan has been told he will not be offered a new deal at Newcastle. Would he be an attractive proposition for any of the top clubs or has he regressed since his days at Bolton?
I thought he had a very good season last year with Newcastle. That is about his level though - to be honest even if when he was with Bolton I don’t think he was up to the level of the top clubs.
So he’d be off to Villa, Wigan, or even maybe back to Bolton.
He’s still only 28, would have put older on him.
By the end of the summer they could potentially have lost Caroll (gone), Enrique (most likely gone), Barton (possibly gone) and Nolan (possibly gone). That’s 4 players a club like Newcastle will find hard to replace?
Yeah. They had a nice little team there. The first match I saw them play this season was against Arsenal in the Emirates. They thoroughly deserved their victory that day.
I watch games on tv like everyone else Julio, its not that fucking hard to see a guys attributes. Thing is most Irish people, and Farmer has admitted this himself about games he comments on, watch them while drinking. So its my belief an awful lot of Irish people haven’t a fucking clue what they are talking about when it really comes down to it.
Not suggesting Farmer hasn’t a clue, but his dismissing of Carroll is based on very thin knowledge of the player going by what he’s saying. In fact i’d suggest he saw very little of him at Newcastle.
Henderson for 20m is insane. An average player who won’t give Liverpool something they don’t already have.
Sanchez to Barcelona is a very interesting one, supposedly Rossi was a done deal for them and I can’t see them having the resources (or need) for both of them. Think Rossi would have been a better fit with Barca’s style of play because he loves to roam about and pick up the ball anywhere. Sanchez is more of an out and out winger who likes to hug the touchline - where he is best, IMO - although he has played most of the season at Udinese centrally this season. Sanchez can also be guilty of taking too much out of the ball at times. Will still be a cracking player for them if he signs - but not as suited to their style of play as Rossi would have been, for instance.
Forgot about Rossi. Yeah Rossi is a much better fit - closer to Pedro in style than Sanchez is. And Rossi could play centrally too with Messi shifting wide for spells or dropping deeper and it’s hard to see that happening as frequently with Sanchez.
They’ll probably get Henderson instead though if they can fight off Liverpool.
I was just wondering how you have the time to be an expert on fitness, nutrition, pschology, football, hurling, soccer etc etc and still have time to print flyers for local tds.
Brad Jones - he wants out apparently. Spent second half of last season on loan with Derby. Gulasci, a young Hungarian, was the second string keeper. He’s going out on loan for next season.
Basically Reina rarely gets injured so the sub keeper will not get a game. Not an attractive opposition I’d say.
I take part in and watch a hell of alot of sport, read and i listen to people.
Simple as that.
I don’t in anyway think i’m an expert in psychology or soccer by the way, although i would have an interest in both. And of course i have studied much of what you have listed for 13 plus years.
I presume you meant proposition there Farmer. Ah you could do worse as an up and comer as to train with the likes of Reina day in and day out, but as a long term gig it wouldn’t be the best. Unless you had the ambition of a Steve Harper of course.
What’s the story with David Amoo? I was of the understanding that the lad is a goal machine at reserve level.
Also, I was reading on another forum that Liverpool signed a lad called Alex O’Hanlon last month, a 15 year old from Dublin who turned down offers from Real Madrid and Arsenal to sign.
