I’m not here to indulge in petty point scoring, but as a BDO man were you not alarmed at the shocking quality on display yesterday? I reckon it was the worst days play in the history of the tournament. The averages were appalling.

I didn’t catch the late action on ESPN but surely to fuck the BBC have to do something about that thud every time a dart hits the board, it sounds like they are throwing javelins ffs. The whole product is shoddy tbh.

There’s no need to be conferring any legitimacy on the PDC by calling that match between Adams & Lewis a ‘unification’ match. The World Darts Championship is held at the Lakeside every January, just like the Grand National is at Aintree and the Masters is at Augusta in April and the All Ireland Finals in Croke Park in September. Whatever that event that’s just been held at the Alexander Palace may be, its no World Darts Championship.

Gutted to hear about John “Boy” Walton’s first round exit. That epic on against Wolfie last year which went to the final leg was probably the greatest game ever seen on the history of the famous stage. My title tip Fitton is gone and now my profile picure gone. It just proves that the unpredictability and all round strength of Lakeside is unrivalled as Andy Boulton is showing here.
