Where on earth did Spence think he was going there? A missed opportunity this, but further highlights the problems we have in the front row should any of the frontliners go down, hockeyed in the scrum, but even at that should really have made more of the chances that came their way in the first half. Dave Kearney the Irish stand out, O Malley didnt get any ball in space to do much and our back up out halves both have a bit to work on still.
Whats the rule with lads running to block a conversion down? Was what the 2 English lads did there within the rules?
Only saw last five minutes. Bit harsh to blame Spence for that turnover mbb. What was he meant to do? That is outhalfās responsibility to deal with ball there and not first centre imo.
If someone could throw up Irish ratings Iād appreciate it.
You can charge once the kicker begins his run up
Surprised at you standing up for Spence Lar. Cant recall if there was anyone outside of him, but running right up the middle wasnt the obvious option thats for sure. Only a small thing anyway, heāll learn.
Thatās what I thought. Madigan was doing some shaping but hadnāt moved his feet so I presume they were wrong?
Zebo looks a bit naive. Heās got unreal pace but really should have either went low or popped the ball to Kearney in first half.
Heās a lot of bulking up to do.
Doubt anyone would argue that about Zebo, but heās come a long way in a short time and its been quite a week for him to be fair, he wasnt even in the squad at start of week and was only a replacement for Luke. Probably got a bit of line fever in first half, but again, from the other angle, it looked as if the pass was cut off by retreating defenders. He had a good game overall I thought. On the whole, I think with TOL and Madigan there in first half Ireland would have won that game.
Zebo wasnāt particularly blistering at underage level so surprised to hear he is blistering now. Certainly was well slower than Gilroy anyway. What has impressed me most about Zebo though is his reading of the game. Gets involved a lot and knows how to which is key for a winger.
Yeah fair enough but I donāt think it was the place to be giving the ball to him in first place to be honest when they were right on their own line. How did he do in general?
Solid if unspectacular. Suffered from Keatley firing out some very erratic passes in the first period. Much like O Malley he could have done more you felt, but just didnt get enough ball on the front foot.
the fallout from the flop in the world cup must be huge-the 3 nations has started and its not on RTE
west brit kick & clap-RIP & Good riddance
Ha, he had alot of weight to drop first, Zebo had a big massive gut on him at 18. He played football against us at Minor, he was kicking frees from 55 metres and had unreal potential as a GAA player, but was fat. Previous to being fat he had been the best sprinter in Ireland at his age and had serious gas, hopefully heāll recover it all with a few years pro training.
See above Lar, he definitely has the pace in him, donāt think heās reached top speed at all yet. Some more off season power training and iād expect him to seriously add a yard or two.
He seems to have matured in fairness, he was an awful browl a few years ago. Cried wolf with the race card in the gaa and shite like that, a real arrogant bastard. But in fairness he comes across very well now. Have not seen her in years, but if my memory serves me correct his sister is mint. MBB should be able to sort us out there, she was a sprinter too i think.
Whatās Zeboās background Kevin? Born in Ireland?
Balbec, who is the guy in your avatar?
Oops.
Yeah, his old lad was an Olympic sprinter for French guinea or something. Yeah Kev spot on the sister is a knockout, was an international sprinter. Manager of Hermitage Green now I think, not sure what else sheās at
When drawing a comparison Larry, why do you always have to bring Ulster players into it?
Iron Mike Houlihan, legendary Kilmallock and Limerick hurler. Also a member of Limerick County Council. An alright sort.
I was commenting on change in Zeboās game and because he and Gilroy were the two wingers on the Irish team I thought he was the most logical person to compare with and cannot think of anyone more appropriate to be honest.
