My title tip Stephen Bunting is first up today against James Wilson who gave a very good account of himself at the World Masters in October.
The Bullet blasted through that first set at high velocity, it’s now 1-1 in set 2.

Great bottle by James Wilson as hits double 10 under huge pressure to take the second set with the throw.
I hope that Stephen Bunting lad has been added to the “People that look Slow” thread?
There aren’t many greater sounds in sport than the thud of a dart of a Winmau board at the Lakeside
James Wilson has broken throw and is 2-1 up in set 3. Is the shock on?
Unbelieveable darts!
The Bullet knocks in 150 against the throw to leave himself on 32, James on 80, hits single 20, double top and double 10 to clinch the set!
And now with the throw in this set he can clinch the match. The Bullet on a 97 average is staring defeat in the face. But he’s broken the the throw in the first leg of set 4 with a 130 outshot
Class from Bunty as he takes this match all the way, now 1-0 up in the final set.
2-0 Bunty final set, he has the darts.
Wilson played well but Bunting just edged him to win it on a double 1
That was a match that was so good that it shouldn’t have finished on a double 1, but the hardest double is always the last and so it was for Bunty. The world number one got there in the end however. That’ll please Auntie Lesley and Uncle Barry who are looking after Stephen’s baby Toby back at home in St. Helen’s.
James gave a great account of himself and lost nothing in defeat.
Classic commentary by Tony Green. Full of empathy and appreciation for both players’ efforts.
Steve Douglas, up next against Gary Stone, revealing to viewers that he is still recovering from a recent heart attack.
I’d respectfully suggest to Steve that the Lakeside stage, with all its associated tension, is not the best place to be if he wants to avoid another one, but no surprise that somebody would risk death to play at the home of darts. That’s what it means.
Real people, real darts.
Triple H-esque entrance for Steve Douglas as he walks on to Motorhead’s “Time To Play The Game”. Let’s hope Triple H doesn’t stand for triple heart attack.
With Wilson left on 9
Great to see Steve Douglas fight back from near death to beat that zombie/hun cunt Gary Stone.
Wolfie
The great Martin Adams enters the Lakeside fray next against young Jimi Hendrix and let’s hope Wolfie’s foxy lady Sharon is present in the crowd. “Are You Experienced?”, Wolfie will no doubt ask the Dutch raider, but I don’t think he’ll have ever experienced anything like The Lakeside.
First ever leg at The Lakeside and Jimi takes out 128 against the triple world champion.
Moxey!
Wolfie has never been the fastest of starters and the first round is often when he’s most vulnerable. He hasn’t been at his best this year but expect the Lakeside to bring out the best in him.
